This is a documentary about the Trapper's war in 1926.  It happened in St Bernard parish

I had heard about it but never really read up on it till I had a chance to be one of the trappers in the movie. Only 47 minutes long.
I enjoyed the hell out of it. Very low budget shoot so please don't knick pick  some of the props.
Now if you knit pick about James Carville interview go right ahead.

I was a deckhand on a crew boat  out of Venice in the mid -80's, all of the captains I decked for were
scared to death of making a wake when we passed Leander Perez's camphouse on Tiger Pass (I think
that's where it was, been a while). It was the only camp that had a deputy sheriff standing watch,
and I was told if a complaint was filed against the boat the captain was losing his job and the boat company
could expect a hefty fine. I don't know if Judge Perez was even still alive then but his reputation and his
power were still respected.

Can’t watch video, This video is private.

There is a CG Cutter down there somewhere in that swamp that diapered with all hands on board.    No sign of the boat has ever been found.

Judge Leander Perez ruled Plaquemines and St Bernard Parish with an iron fist.   I remember as a kid going fishing or just going to the Naval Air Station down below Belle Chasse, if you wear of a different collar you wear watched from the time you entered until you left.   They knew every move you made.
