So here's the scoop on this--
The crust is cheese, cream cheese and almond flour. I figured it wouldn't taste worth a crap but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's good--better than the cauliflower crust one as it tends to hold up better to having sauce put on it. The trick is melting the cheese on top without overcooking the whole thing. So I broiled it. Next time I'm going to "meat up" and put more stuff on top. It will need to be precooked but I'll broil again to melt the cheese. As for the onions: You should see how much garlic I put on this thing. Just trying to keep the vampires away and all. Waiting for the heat to break--it's 111 outside now and I really want to grill tomorrow. The rain has gone to our East and West and missed us entirely. |

I ate a few of them with my taco. I wish the marinade had more bite to it. I threw red pepper flakes in there but obviously not enough. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee365/TwistedSister1989/Posted/02632AB8-2A4B-44B1-A90B-B148570D7D29_zpscaidlsgw.jpg The cheap grilling pan I bought worked well for these. $7.99 at BB&B. Much easier than using a skewer. Quoted:

I get what you're saying about skewering shrimp, but may I ask, do you use one skewer or two when do it? Not saying don't use the pan, use what works! I just would tell anybody, if you're going to put a shrimp on the barbie, for goodness sake use two skewers so they shrimp can all be flipped at once and not spinning around like drunken sailors. |

When I skewer, I use all I have--four. These shrimp were so big I doubt I'd have used but two. This is the first time I've bought from this vendor. But he will be seeing me again. I paid the same for these as I do at Fresh Market and his shrimp were larger than theirs. |

Where are you getting your seafood around here? You in DeSoto? There's a guy at the Hernando Farmer's market who sells fish and shrimp from the gulf. I paid $12.50 for a full fillet of redfish, and $8 a pound for huge shrimp two weeks ago. There's also Paradise Seafood who comes to Overton Square in Memphis once a week. He sells by the pound and has a huge selection in season. |

I am going to have to check this out. So you people have been crashing my farmer's market and I'm there almost every weekend in a Glock or DSU shirt and nobody says a word? Really?? I'd post the map of the market but my photobucket is still FU'd. I'm on the mailing list so I have a list of the vendors and their locations. |

If there's not a Farmer's Market in Tate county, I know why. I'd say a good third of the vendors at the Hernando one are from Tate county. Quoted:

Sorry we can't get it to y'all any cheaper $8 a pound IS cheap by most standards in this part of the state. Fresh Market sells theirs for $7.99 a pound when it is ON SALE. Paradise charges more for theirs--but they have Royal Reds and other kinds. |

Since I didn't cook this weekend (had to get my roots covered yesterday), I can't leave any photos.
However, I did find a great shower cleaning hack last week and I'm impressed with the results. 1 cup Dawn 1 cup vinegar, warmed enough to where putting your finger in it doesn't burn you. Put in a spray bottle, and roll the bottle to mix. Cover shower and scrub with a scrub sponge. Let sit 30 minutes. Rinse slowly with cold water. I swear, this has my shower cleaner than it has been since I moved in. No residue, no streaks. |

Seriously, I'm a bit OCD about cleaning, and this little concoction works better than Tilex, Soft Scrub, or Scrubbing Bubbles. All those left a residue on my fiberglass shower. It does smell though. |
