I finally made it to Range 14 today after a pleasant 1 hour detour around Ft Dix realizing my GPS was useless. I signed up and asked if they had anything in writing as far as rules of conduct, privledges, etc. The guy behind the counter politely told me NO we don't have anything like that and basically told me the hours of operation. There were a few people on the line, but were just cleaning up. My question is. Is a range officer present to monitor the shooting? What kind of standing targets do you bring with? Thanks |
| Yes, they have range offices in the tower and walking the line of tables. Targets, they do sell some there in the office and you can bring pretty much anything as far as I know. They allow ground targets past I believe 15 yards. I bring my old Tide bottles filled with water, just need to clean them up and put them in the recycle bin when done. Must have chamber safety flags in open bolt during cease fire and they have a flag system for the table. |

That means they make 'em up as the day progresses, depending on who you are, careful with what you do, say and shoot with there. |
| It's been a long time since I've been to range 14. It was fine 9-10 years ago when I first started going but eventually over time it started getting super crowded all the time and they started implementing more restrictions on targets and other things. When they started restricting everyone to 1 hour only is when I stopped going, it included the cease fires so you really only had like 40 minutes of shooting, and there was often a 1 hour wait before you could get on the line. I heard they expanded the range so it may not be like that any more. |
