Hi All-

Has to do with SIL w/MS and mental illness. PPD has been EXTREMELY compassionate (for which we are most grateful) to my SIL, however they have enabled her way beyond her current level of handicap, care, mental state and general oversight. Ie: They responded to her Lifeline calls to pick her up and place her back in wheelchair - just this past Friday 4x! PS - We live 3 miles from her house, should could call us, but ... she's is a very "private" and "guarded" person who shares nothing with her Sister and all other living relatives, and there ain't many of them. We are not interested in going into court for her own welfare - it is her bed, she can sleep in it.

Can a person request Police Reports for a specific address? If so how?

Thanks in advance-

L_d

Have to go to the Records Department at your local PD. Everything is Open to the public with the exception of Juvenile reports. Some information maybe blacked out, but you have to put in a request.

***** There might not be reports regarding the incidents. We don't do reports when we assist residents in similiar situations, unless a Medical Assistance refusal form is signed.

Yeah, every call is recorded in one form or another but where you get the records from may vary based on the reporting procedures of the local PD.  My PD generates a report of one form or another for every call we respond to and all of those reports are subject to the Open Public Records Act unless it's a juvenile or domestic issue.
If the local PD doesn't generate minor incident reports like that, you should be able to get the call history for the address from the dispatch agency; whether it be county or local.

Yes.

OPRA the reports from that address.

Also contact their dispatch center for the CAD calls.

OPRA

CAD = computer aided dispatch.  If a report isnt done, there should be a record there.

you can use opra to do this. Your search criteria would be the address and a date range. You will need to go down to the PD and fill out a form, they "may" tell you that you have to go to the municipal clerk's office to do it...either way this would get you the info you want
