Im looking this over and it says "complete a firearms familiarity course, certified by the Bureau, before applying for a permit and have your instructor fill the form out"

Is that the only way for Utah? I recall FL just needed proof of any kind of firearms training, not an actual certified CCW class

And i read they dont honor military service/training when it comes to that considering "Utah Code 53-5-704(7)(B) states "An applicant may satisfy the general familiarity requirement of Subsection (7)(a) by one of the following:" ...
(iii) "equivalent experience with a firearm through participation in an organized shooting competition, law enforcement, or military service."

Thought maybe my certification as a Combat Marksmanship Coach for rifle/pistol would help but i guess not?

I remember having to take a specific class taught by a Utah certified instructor when I got mine. I'm not sure whether proof of military service can be substituted, I'd recommend calling them and asking. Judging by the law you quoted it sounds like you should be able to.

I had to call them when I got my permit because whoever typed it up made a small mistake that I immediately noticed. Dealing with them was like the polar opposite of dealing with NJ for firearms permits, the people there were actually helpful and seemed to know what they're talking about. I had a new permit with the error corrected in my hands a few days later.

Nope, Utah requires that you attend a class taught by a BCI-certified instructor.  No other way around it.

I just completed my 3hr course with Gun for Hire. Check out there website, it's $200.00 and they do everything. All you do is watch a vid, take notes, get finger printed, and pay. Then you wait. The instructor mentioned that It will take 60-70 days to arrive.

What does BCI Certified mean?

I took Bruce Eimers "Basic Handgun Safety"  course at Personal Defense Solutions back in 2007.
This is when i applied for the Florida non resident CCW.
The certificate that was given to me said that it satisfied the training for the Florida permit and the instructor is NRA certified.
Anybody know if i could use this certificate to apply for the Utah permit?

Instructor has to be UTAH Certified. IIRC that mean person has to participate to their program through and AT UTAH Training Instructor.

So I would say, no.

I'm going to see my UTAH Cert Trainer EOW, where i will get my course and fill out the paperwork.

This CCW stuff can be expensive.
