Anyone else send an email to him and get this response?
Dear Friend: Thank you for writing to express your opposition to new laws regarding gun control. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue. Acting on my commitment to take a full and comprehensive look at the intersection of gun control, addiction, mental health and school safety in New Jersey, I have created the NJ SAFE Task Force. The Task Force will be chaired by two former attorneys general of New Jersey and members who have expertise in the fields of mental health diagnosis and treatment, addiction services and treatment, law enforcement and school safety. Violence in our society has never been solely about firearms, and we would miss an opportunity to better prevent the roots of violence if we didn't look at the complete picture. If we are truly going to take an honest and candid assessment of violence and public safety, we have to look more deeply at the underlying causes of many acts of violence. That means removing the stigma and evaluating issues of mental health, addiction, prevention and treatment services alongside the effectiveness of our firearms laws, enforcement mechanisms and our school safety measures. This task force will convene immediately and report back with its findings. My commitment has always been to evaluate public safety, criminal policy and behavioral science with an approach that recognizes that these issues cannot be separated from one another. The SAFE Task Force will further my commitment in that regard as we look at how we can better guarantee violence control. I hope you find this information helpful. Thank you again for writing. Sincerely, Chris Christie Governor Just goes to show how many people probably sent him an email for them to generate an auto response. |

The Task Force? Who is in the TF? Pro-gun individuals? Somehow I doubt it. Is this a way for CC to deflect blame for taking our guns away? I think he honestly has his finger in the wind. He probably noticed his boy Cuomo's approval rating spiraling down the shitter after he did his little ditty. It is up to us to pull him off of the fence onto our side. |
| Our plight in NJ has to get National coverage and we need to ensure the Governor knows it. This will put pressure on him to veto b/c he'll never make a run at the Presidency if he let's this pass. He's already got to deal with his support of the AWB in his '94 campaigning. |

Yes- Your letters crafted to him must be polite, and voluminous in the scope of action you can take, ie: Please veto, etc...., I am an active political participant, I vote for candidates who support my mind as declared above, and I donate and support by all available means to like minded political campaigns and PACs. My philosophy of support is not contained to local, county, and state, but extends across the US and at the Federal level. Something like that..... |
Exact same response here. But that's not to say we should let up emailing him, calling, faxing, writing letters, etc. You better believe that they are noticed. And you better believe that the antis are emailing him also. Every friggin ones helps, we need to keep it up! I'm actually more positive about his response-it lacks blame on guns, and the more time buying there is, the less impact the manipulation of the Newton tragedy will have. I'm cautiously hopeful and never giving up my fight for freedom, don't just write off your efforts.
