Being an old guy who still remembers how to use the phone, I actually called Buds and asked why it takes so long for them to ship. Their response was reasonable.
First, they fully disclose that the order may take up to 7 days to ship. Read. The reason for the 7 days is that they broker for many dealers. The firearm you order may or may not be in their stock. The 7 days is to allow them time to obtain the stock, inspect it, and ship it to you. They told me that all in-stock orders ship within 24 hours and that most brokered deals are shipped within 5 days. IMHO, for the huge savings you can find there, many times 20+% less than the NJ storefronts, I can wait a week. |

I've ordered several guns from Buds. Never any issues and they have no problem shipping anything that's legal to NJ. I was expecting an issue when I ordered my MSAR from them but they shipped it no problem.
They are apparently backed up due to a huge surge in sales at the moment. Probably a mix of tax refund time and it being an election year. |

Bud's and others like them, will be the downfall of a lot of local B&M dealers.
Bud's does drop shipping from Sports South who is a Distributor for many dealers. Most of the time they do not even take possession of the firearm. Someone sits behind a computer, takes orders, then calls Sports South who ships the gun to the dealer you selected. The Manufacturers are putting pressure on the Distributors to stop this practice. I have heard that starting 4/1, Sports South will stop drop shipping for Bud's. You will see Bud's prices continue to rise because they will need to start taking possession, inventory, then stock and ship the firearms. Then the prices will be on equal par with local dealers. |
