| Was at the range today for the first time in a few weeks. It seems they have installed video cameras at the handgun and rifle ranges, dont know if the shotgun , 200 and 300 yrd and plinking have them yet. I dont know about anyone else , but I find this to be complete and utter horse-sh!t. The RO said its a move by the board to cover their asses. Call me an alarmist , but the very real threat that these tapes can be subpoenaed by prosecutors or the FBI , ATF or anyone else in the gov is disturbing to me. What with the growing anti-gun sentiment and assault to our 2A rights , I feel they are opening us up to more BS. Just think about the possibilities of what they are doing . Lets say you have to defend yourself to an armed intruder in your own home, A prosecutor finds out you are affiliated withe the club , tapes are subpoenaed and there you are every weekend enjoying your rights shooting various weapons. The prosecutor then decides you are actually practicing to be an armed killer, and dont think thats out of the realm of possibility. How about you and a bunch of friends meet regularly to shoot rifles, with the tapes in hand the Gov comes after you as some sort of militia and a domestic terrorist . Like I said , maybe Im an alarmist , but with the state of things today , I find this unacceptable and will voice my opinion to the ANJRP accordingly. |
| I have never been there my self... but then again I don't shoot any firearms in this state. I would boycott them, along with all your friends. Would it be possible to get a partial refund on your club dues? Tell them you will no longer patron their club until they respect the freedoms and privacy of those that keep their business alive. I see where you're coming from, I think it is a bunch of horse shit as well. It is extremely sad that all over America our rights, freedoms, and privacy are being raped and obliterated on a daily basis in the name of "safety." Yet not enough citizens care to change it. I don't know if it's because of stupidity, laziness or both, but it is making it harder for the rest of us. Good luck, I hope you get enough people who have a membership there to back you and get things changed. |

What is with all the comments about boycotting ranges? I don't know about others' situations, but if I do not like the range that is a 30-minute drive, I have to drive an hour for another option. There are only like a dozen or so ranges in all of NJ.
I get the reasoning behind the cameras, but I am not sure that I agree with the necessity. Ranges are full these days. If anything went bad at the range, it is not like there would be an absence of witnesses. Our society is just so accustomed to technology; juries want to see footage, not hear testimony of witnesses. Suckerdown. If you want to shoot, you are going to get you picture tooked. Just like driving your car. When I catch a red light, I tell the kids to pick their noses and pretend to eat buggers because we might be on camera. |

We have cameras installed at my gun range. This was done to find the morons that were causing damage by mis-directed shots.
Since the club is in an industrial area, any rounds leaving the shooting area could cause the club to be shut down.....again. I do not want to have to drive for an hour just to find a place to shoot. |

ill drive three hours one way to shoot before ever enduring that kind of shit. its funny becuase the Elmer Squids i mean Fudds, that push this shit and get it approved at clubs, don't even shoot. But love to be the first to Ratt or bitch up a storm at the meetings.. its a shooting range. Yes the backers will get wasted. ricochets happen, etc they can keep that over Policed Lame range. |

| I am surprised the Board did this without contacting the members. Not to sure any of these horror stories will ever play out; but you can bet you last dollar if the ATF or any other agency wanted video they would get it. The practicing thing would never work in criminal law, but civilly it may. |

| I dont think the cameras are necessary. Here is a scenario you are shooting your ar 15 and u r using a 30 round mag pinned to 15 rounds. Someone saw u using that mag and decides to report u. You go home and the next day u r sitting in your living room watching Sons of Anarchy the next thing you know the atf and local pd are kicking your door in looking for high cap mags. They have u on tape and they have a witness. Im just saying. Beware big bro is watching. |

guy shooting AR all day... coincidently a NJSP Helo flys over a few times the same exact day....Hummm....... then guy leaves...gets a few miles down the road, and is pulled over and everything in his car laid out in the street. where's the mags, where's the mags ?? what mags ?? the guy was totally clean... what a great way to spend NJ tax dollars. FK NJ, FK Camera's, FK OFF...lol you can bet every dollar you will ever make this will happen. they can keep it. i wouldn't go there if they bought me the gun and ammo to shoot. Unless your shoot off the bench they look at you like your crazy. Not to mention the average age of a member is around 70 with oxygen tank in tow. i was yelled at for not putting in a chamber flag...and the range was still hot.... that was that... haven't been back in 10 years. to me shooting isn't opening my portable tool box that converts into a bench rest. i had another member ask one time that we should go together and ratt another member out because he was shooting at a human shaped target.. i quietly said , mind your fkn business buddy. but that was enough Lame for me. i Only shoot in PA or elsewhere. they are Assholes that run that place. and hardly shooters. the ones who make the strictest rules are the ones that haven't shot in 25 years. and are miserable fks to begin with. |

They have eased up on the silhouette targets, originally I was told it was because some "uninvited guests" were seen in the wood line taking pictures and the association wanted to avoid bad publicity! |

If you really, really want to know about the source for hating on guys that shoot human type targets, Read "On KIlling".
The author bring 200 years of research and facts into a book. In this specific case, why the military had problems getting all soldiers to fire weapons in combat, and what the military did in combating that problem. HINT: We no longer use bullseye targets, only human shaped targets, regardless of the range to the target. EDIT: I'm not defending the pricks that think humat shaped targets should be verboten, just stating there is a big reason the drives their concern. I love shooting human type targets, its good practice for shot placement. In fact, I have a full body target, it has all the organs and major bones on it  I'll try yto get a picture of one if I can find my camera laying around here somewhere!

i have a bunch of stories about Cherry Gay. i don't even want to make you guys sick. i even got locked in the place one night.
the ''live in'' Range Nazi treated me like i was an ax murderer... then gave me a super atitude when i asked you just saw me taking targets down at the 300 but locked me in anyway ? for the one safety violation they find, they will find 25 other victims for who know's what. so i guess thier Squad of Nazi's don't do a good enough job RSO'n so lets waste members dues ( without a vote) on cameras. they forget without Members they have no range. but enough Sheeps will always pay there i guess. out of 10 times i went there i had nine problems. and i did my best to follow every rule. it was never enough. guys would stand behind you and look at your guns... FK that... i had enough. |

I was a member there for a few years in the early 90's. One Tueday morning like 9:30am, place is empty and I am the only one there shooting what was then my five shot off duty gun. After a few minutes the then "Rangemaster" (more like greens keeper) races over in an old beat up dump bed truck, jumps out and and starts waving his arms while yelling "Stop STOP". He tells me that there is no "rapid fire stuff around here". I never renewed my membership and decided that place sucked ass. A few weeks ago I was in the area and took a ride on in to have a look around. When I got to the main parking area outside the office the place was packed with expensive german cars and all kinds of big city types and older women. All carrying SIG pistol boxes.
I have a 7 shot Smith .38 now so I don't think I will fit in with Dr. Nerdface or Mrs. Wazork.

LOL, i was shooting a Knights MK11 ( with 10 round mag) at the 200 yard line one time. one of those clowns rolls in
with a Benz SUV all pimped out, and gets out with a big ass cigar, and a gold plated nuetered up Colt Match target. like the ones you can buy in the NRA magazine with a display case. he thought he was the hottest thing since the sun started shining. and looked at me and my MK 11 like we where the biggest pieces of doo. a couple range clowns came over and kissed his ass for an hour. i just laughed to myself , that tool had no idea what was what.if PA didn't exist, i would of hung myself 23 years ago... |

i was talking to a guy at a match one day. we where talking about Knob Creek... i told him how much fun it is, etc. he got real mad, and started pissin... if your a NJ resident and you even touch a gun that is illegal in NJ you will go to Jail. i was like ...your kiddin me with that one...LOL. bla bla..you will go to Jail. on and on... that was it for me. FK NJ. LOL. that was the most stupid shit i ever heard in my life. where do they dream this shit up ? |

it kills me when guys tell me they are going to NJ for a match or something. because i know so many that want to rid themselves of that shit hole for good. i been to Texas shooting, it was cool, but they have some screwy things too. they close alot of ranges for stupid reasons. i been to Ky too. having a gun there is like wearing your pants..LOL. i have a very good friend who is on the board...it really is to see who is doing studip stuff. there is much stupid there, thousand guys who for the most part shot twice a year and do what they want and ignore the rules. i gave that place up many yeras ago because of carertaker and the idiots who shot there. now in pa and much happier...if i could only sell my nj house now

The BulletHole has cameras. I do not agree with camera watching our every move, especially red light cameras. The members should make a stink. If the Orginization stops getting donations and fees, they won't be able to afford those cameras. I would not worry too much about it any way. Last time I was there as a guest, to range officers almost had a coronery because I had on an empty holster. I will take my business else where. Too many rules and watchful eyes takes away from the fun of our sport.
