Taken from GD..
http://www.eliteammunition.net/newsletters/newsletter/7385257/81014.htm I guess that means that now an FID will be required for the purchase of .223 ammo
eta: NEVERMIND- checked out the link and I think the ruling only applies to the particular bullet that is manufactued by the company who posted this. |
| Still, how is one manufacturer subject to this while another is not?? How are thier bullets substantially different from any other on the market to make them "pistol cartridges"? Nothing. Just some guy who didn't get laid for a week decided to take it out at work. IMHO this is just another example of the BATFE stepping way outside their lane and trying to screw over the little guy. I'm running for President in 2020, and that will be the end of that. |

Team, Before we get everyone upset, lets be 100% clear that we are NOT talking about normal .223 bullets here. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e169/panzermk2/EA_T6_PFP_Trident/Trident25grPFP_03.jpg Certainly not a NATO bullet there. But still, WTF? And... what is up with this little gem: Those who have T6 ammunition and PFP bullets will be contacted by the BATF to recover any bullets or ammunition that have not been FIRED yet.
How the heck did the ATF get the right to confiscate property that was purchased legally according to the classifications in effect at the time of purchase? They've done this quite a few times with various items, a few that come to mind are the Akins accelerator 10/22 stock and those Chinese AKs that were imported with a 3rd hole |

So, what is going to happen?
Is the BATFE going to force EA to produce a list of people who purchases these bullets? So, the BATFE can send them a nice letter asking them to surrender their unused ammo. And then, is the BATFE going to go knocking on the doors of each person who does not voluntarily surrender a reasonable quantity? Geeze, nothing could go wrong there! |
