Get a carbide or TIN coated drill bit and drill it off.

google search for Lockpicking.  Locks are pretty simple once you understand how they work.

If you know which company made it, call the company.

I had to drill out a trigger lock once for my Dad. It was disgusting how fast I had that thing off.

Is it an integral lock?

Picking them is easy. They aren't made for security. If you can't pick it, Take a drill bit and a drill right where the key would go. If you feel like taking a ride to monmouth co. or CJRP I can help you, but it is painfully simple.

IMHO gun locks are a waste. If you needed that gun now you'd be screwed. The only place gun locks should ever be is mass-a-two-shits, where it has something to do with the law.

No you do not

You can have the weapon in a secured and fastened container, separate from the ammunition.  You can lock the case or have the weapon locked in a trunk.

Who told you that?

Like matt said it only needs to be secured and not easily accessible to you while driving.

I prefer not to take any chances. I also lock up the ammo in a metal ammo box. I just play it safe thats all. Well my 357 is free from being lock. Those green trigger locks you buy at Dicks sporting goods are  not keyed differently. I used a different key. It saved me some headaches. I do understand the law about transporting a gun to and from the range. I have read stories about people haveing thier gun taken from them while transporting them.
