I know that the police cross the line on occasion (some more than others) but in this case I don't see how he wasn't justified to take action. Looked like she was resisting and pushing him, which to me equals serious legal and physical problems for her. Too bad he didn't have a taser though, she would have deserved it and those videos are really hilarious. |
| That is a cop nightmare....he could have had his weapon grabbed so easy or a few of them jumping him. He was justified, it would be easy to articulate fear for his life, she interfered with his lawful duty, a jaywalker, she is going to prison. Now some of the comments posted are from sickos and that scares me |

I think the presentation of his weapon would have ended that conflict very fast without anyone being punched in the grill piece. The presentation of his weapon would have been a horrible idea, he need to take control of the situation better, call it in to at least put it on the radio, then one at a time, drill her on the ground and keep a perimeter, if some one crosses it cut her loose to protect yourself, as a PO he has to use force on force, This will be a good training vid, but I was not there, it is easy to pass judgment on his actions. |

Or when he did draw he weapon, he got jumped weapon taken away and shot. I think he did good. I just love how a cretin class of people think they are above the law, can interfere with actions of law enforcement and blame it all on the Police. If I was on a jury and he used lethal force to protect himself I would have voted not guilty, or no reason to bring this to trial. |

At 1:32, look at the guy all the way on the left side of the frame...whats in his hand? I wonder if that guy is plain clothes or what? Thats a cell phone. The video is from someone holding a cell phone too. That cracks me up, there is people all around them just watching them. Ever think of lending a hand to the cop trying to putting some crazy person's face into the pavement? Maybe the presentation idea was a bad one. I didn't mean drawing it out while right next to them. I was thinking more of giving himself a little distance first. |

He needs to go back to the academy and learn how to do that cuffing thing in a more expedient manner. Taking that long, in that environment is a recipe for disaster. Another reason why Krav is the best tool to use in a situation like that.
Something that I LOL'd about was at the very end one of the comments I heard, "why you'd hit her with a closed fist". Cuz,we all know an open hand means I love you in the 'hood. Someone should have called an amber-lamps. A taco kick would have added to the comedic factor in a big way. I'll tell you what, that woman in the took a nice shot to the teefs and handled it quite well. Must have been thru a lot of 'lovely' relationships.
That situation has to be a LEO's worst nightmare...I am sure he is hating his job all the way to the station. All in all, that crowd could have easily turned on him. And why didn't call for back up? |

Damn that was quite amusing. Must have been nerve racking for that cop with all those dudes standing behind him like that.
They all knew it was being filmed thats why no one got up and done nothing about it. Bet if there wasnt any cameras that guy would be dead |

Somehow I doubt if they would have helped the cop? As for cuffing her, if she was wacked out or high, it is real tough. We had an incident where a wacky female took 7 guys to restrain her, later on she was belly chained to the bench, stood up and ripped the restraints apart |

Then again, she was probably closer to the spectrum.
I know if peeps are wacked out of their minds you could easily dislocate her shoulder and she'd still be swinging and fighting. Still, I think calling in for backing off for a second and calling back up would have been a good move. With those skinny chicken wings for arms she had, I was getting frustrated with how she kept twisting out of his holds. Wrist locks and submission points work wonders with unruly types and doesn't look at that graphic on tape. |
