can you buy long guns there and bring them back to NJ provided they're post ban and you have a fid or do you need to go through a ffl? Yes you can buy NJ legal configured rifles and shotguns there, but along with your FPID, you should bring copies of the certificate of eligibility with you as well. COE |

Hey, tell me about Friday are most of the vendors set up? What time does it start and how late does it go? It's supposed to be a nice weekend and I would rather not spend the ever decreaseing good days inside, but I love the gun shows! Friday usually 75% of them are up. The ammo dealers are usually there but some of the others arent. Or thats what it was like last one i went on friday. Its open from 4-8pm on fridays and costs 15 dollars to get in instead of 9 dollars like Sat and Sunday |

Btt, i know it's still going on but please post an AAR. How are prices? any reloading components? T&T Reloading from PA. is always there. I'm sure he will be there tomorrow. He brings tons of reloading stuff. It's basically the only reason I go anymore. |

speaking of reloading stuff, at valley forge tonight, i took the plunge and picked up a dillon 550b with free 45acp kit. not counting the cost of the press, i bought enough materials (powder, federal primers, and a brick of 230gr fmj projectiles) to reload at least 500 rounds of 45acp. tom are you going to cjrpc sunday? if so i want to meet you there and bounce some thoughts off of you in regards to reloading :D
on another note, the friday night show was the busiest i have ever seen it. it was packed almost like a saturday morning. 90% of the tables were up and running. primers were available all over the place. the reloading guy in the back is only letting you buy primers if you get something else too, so no primer only sales. (i asked why, woman said they used to get a pallet of primers a week, now they only get a pallet a month |

I always found lead to be more accurate in my reloading but thats with a 1911 |

To the guys that went, do they sell 1919 parts, ie stand, pintle, barrels etc You want to go to the SAR Gun Show for that. Thats pretty much all MGs and nothing but 1919 shit. I bought my 1919 there. But damn you can just buy all that shit online anyway |

Well I came home with 20,000 primers, 7 lbs of powder and some cleaning supplies. Wolf primers were $27.99 a 1000.
Lot's of what I consider "junk" at this show. Ninja swords, air soft, earring's and chains and things of that nature. However there were tons of black rifles in every configuration and accessories. I have to say I really feel for you guys who don't reload your own ammo. I wouldn't shoot much If I had to pay $25.00 for 50 rounds of .45ACP, $16.00 FOR 9mm and almost a dollar a round for .308. DAMN!! I had no luck though for .22LR. Pickings were really slim. I only saw some higher priced target ammo. My door is always open if anyone here wants to get into reloading. Now is a real good time to start. |

I got enough powder and bullets to last me a while even though im not going to be around for the next 6 months starting in Nov. Atleast ammo went down some as far as 223 and 7.62x39 goes. They had some Israeli military contract 556 that was brass cased for 180 per 500 which wasnt bad but who knows how good that shit was. I just bought Wolf, fuck it. I liked the new SW 22lr AR they had for 450 too. Only thing i would have considered buying there if i had the money was an Arsenal 107 Krinkov this guy had for 1165 which is a good price considering they are hard to find in the 7.62 version. Maybe when i come back from PI and SOI. All i know is i need to burn off 500 rounds of Wolf and 500 rounds of 54R before Nov 2nd |

SAR is Small Arms Review magazine, who hosts it. Its primarily a Machine Gun show held in York Fair Grounds PA. There are tons of 1919 shit there and NFA toys we cant have as well as the usual gun show dealers you normally see. Ohio Ordinance is always there and have a huge display of stuff. There are alot of other known companies there too and alot of dealers come from other states like VA, CT, MD, DE etc etc I pretty much never miss it. Even if i dont buy anything, its cool to touch all the belt feds you will normally never get to see in person |

| I was going to buy a NJ legal AK from Kings Shooting supply. Was a Romanian with a naked barrel and no Bayonet lug and the dude refused to sell it to me because he said It wasn't NJ legal. So insted of arguing with him I just walked away. Got some BLC-2 and primers aswell. Overall a good show I thought. |
| i gotta agree with what someone said earlier that most of the show is full of shit. Actually the armory is just as bad. Tons and tons of airsoft, cheap optics, expensive crap ammo, old war memorabilia, which is actually kinda cool but i don't collect it., etc... Evrytime i go there i always feel i could have better spent my time elswhere. |

anyone ever used the little handloaders for reloading .223? Just wondering how it was. I would like to start reloading but my budget is pretty tight. thought that little thing might not be a bad option? Not good enough. You will still need to trim you brass. |

I would recommend whichever one has the auto-indexing of the shell plate. I know the 550 does not, but I'm not sure about the 650.
The auto-indexing "helps" avoid the chance of a double charge of powder in a case. For what it's worth(which is next to nothing I know), I started out on a square deal B and still crank the shit out of it. |

what would be better to start loading on for a newbie ? i would like to load 9, 40, 45, .223 .308 . dillion 550 or 650. ? thanks Luger might take you up on that offer someday if you dont mind ? can someone recomend a good video/book , class ? thanks Sure anytime. I would start out with a RCBS Rock Chucker to get the start and feel of things. Start with pistol ammo first and move on to rifle. Then when your comfortable you can go progressive and use the Rock Chucker for rifle ammo. Personally I'm still using the RC that I started on back in 1982. I handload because I enjoy it just as much as shooting and I'm in no rush when I do it. As far as books are concerned The ABC's of Reloading is a good start however a lot won't make sense till you actually start reloading. Even better would be to drop by for an hour for a fast lesson. Reloading isn't for everyone. You may love it like I do or find it tedious and boring. Some people after they see all the necessary steps and time they have to put in just can't be bothered. |
