I have a few boxes of milsurp for it. The barrel, bolt-face and maybe some parts of the receiver are the only areas that'll need attention to remove the corrosive fouling the ammo leaves, right? Should be nice and simple to clean without a gas system to worry about!

It came with a regular AK mag and no Saiga mag, and no bullet button. 30rnd Saiga mags appear to be pretty expensive. Are there any cheaper options for purchasing? I'll probably convert it for regular AK mags in the future, but one Saiga mag would be useful for the moment.

Thanks.

Clean everything

Modify the standard AK mags to the AK103 rather than the AK; easier and cheaper if you go wrong

Barrel is chrome lined as is chamber I believe. So in theory corrosive ammo should not be too much of an issue there.

I shoot S+B milsurp in mine and clean it immediately after shooting - the muzzle brake ( if you have a 74/100 type ) will rust within mins of shooting with corrosive stuff

I heard they are supposed to be chrome lined as well, but the one fitted to this M3 is not. Luckily it is easy to remove.

If you have the '74 brake on your rifle be sure to remove it from the rifle and clean & lube it regularly, it can seize up pretty bad if you dont. Especially if your shooting 7n6 or something like

My 104 has a chromed barrel, and the bullet guide is easy to do.I did mine in about 15mins and it now takes milsurp mags which you can pick up cheap.I use Russian and East German milsurp ammo and clean it thoroughly every time I shoot it.
