Just got home. Great days shooting and lovely weather.

Also got two of the guys at my club to give it a go and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves too.

My Hatsan had a little rubber o ring on the piston and I lost it last time I cleaned it. Online enquiries led me to believe that they work fine without them. Took a chance and it worked faultlessly and I even managed a few good scores considering I never practice with it and only take it it out for the comps.

What about you guys and girls ? Any of you take part ? I only saw two familiar faces from here.

Oh and I noticed a new comp - an automated mini McQueen for .22 - did not know in advance so did not enter but it looks good.

That's interesting. I was thinking about selling CZ452, might hang onto it a bit longer.....

Well my only .22 is a very tatty looking BSA Martini with a home painted stock - barrel cut down very short. I would almost be embarassed to be seen with it anywhere than bashinr rabbits on the farm.

But I reckon it would fare ok at this match.

.22 mini McQueens sounds exciting?
Have you ever heard of Reflexive Fire?

The sniper team did well today in the combat matches, they won f**k all

It would be an excellent way of getting new people into the concept of more dynamic and interesting disciplines at club level. At present to invest in what you need to shoot full-size McQueens and related disciplines, only to find it's not really for you is what puts  a lot of people off. No-ones asking you to lower your standards.......

Bollicks
McQueens was always shot with a 7.62 rifle, ie a L42 etc.
That was before all these fancy dan über calibres came along etc.

Reflexive fire and other similar matches are a better idea

I think the mini McQueens is a brilliant idea. Cheap, easy to set up. Good way to get people into "practical" disciplines.

....being the relevant word....

....I agree, particularly if you let people have a crack at them with semi-auto .22's......

Both may encourage people to move on to the greater challenges of full-bore and regular CSR, practical etc. Trouble with you septics is that you're spoiled when it comes to shooting....
