Had a good look at a RR Merlin, a Wright R-1820-97 (B17G) engine and prop and a Canberra fuselage and all before 9am

Here's the Merlin. Excavated from 18 feet down after Hurricane, caught fire and Crashed after machine gun fire. Impacted ground vertically. Pilot bailed out. |
Tried to set up the sling on my AK (gets in the way too much, would be OK semi-auto, damn you Ryan  ) Installed Android 4 on my HP Touchpad, drank Budweiser, watched The Young Ones...
... Most important thing though, it's my dogs second birthday  Happy birthday Rolo

Clearing out a shithole of a garden, with round two scheduled for tomorrow. Inadvertently smashed a few monstrous concrete excuses for decorations whilst I was at it, which added a little meaning to the process.
Don't do much shooting at the moment, and definitely not enough rimfire (considering its cost effectiveness). Still... whole week of it in America next month. Right now I'm thinking it's time to build a 10m range and purchase a CO2 pistol.

Busy doing garden/animal related chores most of the day, but nipped out to the range at lunchtime and put 200 rounds down the Sig 522 in less than 40 mins.
It would have been much quicker, but we had to change targets halfway plus I only have 3x25rd mags and it takes three times as long to load them as it does to empty them

We don't do bank holidays so today I repaired kerbs and such (mostly snoozing in the cab) and ate a pork roast sandwich* for lunch + stayed away from the range -in case they had some more repairs they wanted done (damn unpaid voluntary jobs...)
Soren *Burger bun with 1-2 slices of pork roast with crunchy salty rind decorated with chopped and boiled red cabbage + cucumber salad (thinly sliced cucumber salted and pressed dry in hands, pickled in vinegar softened with sugar) dripped off and put on top of red cabbage. eta: * |

Were you the chap with the drag bag, collection of pmags, and the take down .22? I thought I had seen a pic of the .22 on here before! Eta, yes it was your .22, just found the pics. And no It wasn't me complaining a Winchester 190 we had a chat about your take down Browning, I wasn't aware of being unfriendly? in fact as your party were using our target and benches at the beginning of the day I thought I was very pleasant about the intrusion into our sovereign space  I even managed to reclaim my rifle stand from one of your guys without hitting anyone  strange how its such a small world
