Well I was walking through the park the other day and along the river and decided I wish to go fishing. I also saw a few rusted out and or broken signs stating members fishing only and something about a&l day fishing tickets or something. Anyway seeing I am not a local I want to know how to go about getting a fishing license and the regs and fish species available.

Day tickets can often be bought at local tackle shops, they should also be first call for advice. |

Environment Agency Rod Licences
The above link will give you the info you need for a rod licence. In terms of local fishing arrangements with the local angling club, a google search should give you what you need or a friendly chat with a local angler should enable you to find out about who to contact re fishing rights. Hope this helps |

Hope this helps Why do I need a rod license and fishing rights for waters that are part of govt owned land
ETA: I am used to yankee rules where if the waters in state owned land its fair game. Ive got govt land and parks nearby with good fishing or appears to have, and I see ancient members only fishing signs or some bs about contacting some one but no # on the sign.
As far as the rod license ill get the year long one seeing I more or less live here now.

You need an annual rod licence to fish on most inland waters. You don't need one for fishing at the coast IIRC. From what you are saying the annual one will probably suit you best. As for the waters you intend to fish, some are owned (or the rights to fish are owned) by angling clubs so you might need to get a day ticket to fish there. That is a local arrangement that would need to be made with the local club if applicable. Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm more of a sea fisherman than course or lake. |
