So I'm bored with manually trimming cases and fancy getting myself a power trimmer...
Gracie, Dillon, Giraud, or something else... Pros & cons anyone? |
|
Gracie would be my choice as it's the only power one i've tried, just watch the gracie thumb you'll get after a few hundred. Using a glove helps. ↲
The hand trimmer i have is good for one-offs or small batches only. Wouldn't want to try it for bigger lots. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I wonder what else your 3 year old will shove in there |

When are you getting a Stainless Steel Media tumbler then as you wont want to trimmer them there dirty cases. ![]() Why a stainless media tumbler? I usually clean my cases in an ultrasonic bath. It takes about 8 minutes to strip all the crap off them and make them all shiny and new, then I rinse them in clean water, dry them in the oven at 60C for half an hour and off they go into the RCBS tumbler for a couple of hours to polish them up. Simples. |

Ask Bradders. I'm missing something huh? ![]() This is why Not the best pic, but wow http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz105/Mbradders/photo-5.jpg Impressive. The system I have at the moment works fine, but as soon as m RCBS tumbler dies I will probably consider going down that same route. How long does it tale to run clean a batch? |

2 hours for up to 300 .223 cases, using boiling water speeds the process up. No need to tumble to polish after cleaning, they just need drying; I use Julie's hair dryer. Thanks. I've tried that myself but find that sticking them in the oven for 45 minutes at 60-80c gets them dry quickly. Do they clean the primer pockets as well as ultrasonic? Who did you get yours from? I've seen them on the accurate shooter website for $230 ish. Might even be worth a bulk purchase if enough people are interested. |

This brass looks better than new and totally spotless. As for a bulk buy, I ordered 2 last night and got a break on the shipping and I believe that Mousegunner dave and IckleGavin did likewise today www.stainlesstumblingmedia.com |
