I fancy an eberlestock pack system. I know a few of us here have them, and would value your opinions on the various types. I dont know which one to go for, but i do know what i want it for. I want a day pack, that will take food, waterproofs, a hydration bladder, and be able to take an AR, but also extend for a 60" .338 rifle, which is heavy.
Any idea,s guy's ?

I've got a Phantom and it's just about ideal. It should do you too.

I had a G4 Operator before but it was too large

The Phantom is just about ideal for what you describe and it's how I use mine.

Rifle in the back, food, waterproofs and ammo inside and still room for bino's and even a spotting scope.

The side pouches are large enough to take a couple of 2L water bottles.

I can get my shotgun in the scabbard alongside the rifle, and it will take a bolt gun no problem too.

Another choice may be the Gunslinger 2

I got the phantom too.

Pretty much what Mark said - it has room for everything I take to the range.

I've got a gunslinger 2, in Unicam! it works a treat for a days shooting, and it's bloody comfortable too! and with Molle Pouches added it really is a well thought out bit of kit!

I do need the shotgun scabbard though...

Gunslinger II.... Smaller than the Phantom (no side pockets) but perfect for a day sack...

Thanks for all the replies guys.I think i,m fairly sold on the phantom. The problem now being where to get it from. Edgar brothers is listed as the UK supplier, but their rep didn't know what i was talking about when i asked last week. They can be had from midway though.
I seriously doubt anyone wanting to ship such a military specific item of gear out of the states, unless someone knows different ?

Mine came from Edgars but I believe some others have bought them from Ebay
ETA: The one thing I did do was add some external mag pouches to free up a bit of space and make life easier, but that's the beauty of Molle

It's a bag not an ITAR restricted item. There are some reliable eBay sellers in the US that will ship to the UK.

Feel free to do that.

But afterwards, contact a certain ebayer I can put you in touch with. He will do it much cheaper and he is willing to be creative with the value declared on the customs label.

I too need a shotgun scabbard. When one has invested in a quality shotgun, its only right to ensure its conveyed in a quality bit of kit.

The guys you gave me don't have the stock Brian.

I think they landed some stock a while back but have had nothing in from Erberlestock for some time.  I ordered from them about three months agi and ended up getting a refund because they say they couldn't get the stock.

I've waited for nearly three months for the item I'm after but had no luck.

I eventually ordered from another store in Arizona who said they had no such problems getting stock from Erberlestock.

I think that because the guys on E-Bay were doing to so cheap, they may have pissed off Erberlestock and have had their supply cut.

You don't have time to comment. You are too busy fixing the GTG cock ups from what I'm hearing....... I believe you have just taken delivery of another GTG gun that the GTG is refusing to fix for a paying customer who bought the gun from him......am I correct?

Iv'e had the original gunslinger for about three years now & its doing ok, however the shotgun side scabard is simply not long enough for our UK legal shotguns with their 24" barrels, so dont waste your money unless you want to carry it with the barrel removed, its designed for the shorter entry type models.

You need the A2SS Scabbard and might also want to consider the JSTC Regular Butt Stock cover for a UK Shotgun, the Shotgun Scabbard A1SS is too short for a 24" barrel.

I dont mind the stock exposed - as long as barrel and receiver are covered.

Postage on a scabbard costs thesame as the scabbard itself.

The times I've carried my shotgun in mine, I've been more than happy to just use the original rifle scabbard and put the shotgun in there covered in a gunsock.

Not so, old chap.
How we roll in Essex is to have the old 870 with pistol grip (and barrel cut off flush with end of mag tube) jubilee clipped to the drivers door. Just grab, pump, and give them the good news........
Preferably shouting "take that you pikey mo-fo" at the same time.
