Bang on matey. Whenever i,ve seen pics of the m24 i,ve wondered why people raved about them...especially that stock. Picking one up [ or a copy ] shows why.
For several hours i contemplated buying this gun from the guy i built it for. I hate hs stocks, and .308,s. Go figure. Tis witchcraft, i tell thee.... |

Very nice Dave, Funnily enough I did exactly that for one of my friends a few years ago. He got the bug after shooting a genuine M24 on one of our trips to the US, except he insisted I use a short action and went for a longer barrel .Anyhow, I managed to get him a genuine Mike Rock 5R barrel (1:11.25), correct bottom metal and a set of original RPA sights. The M24 used RPA's with adjustments that go in the other direction. Otto Weber from OK WEber supplied them and dropped them in at Bisley for me on one of his trips over from the US. Mike Rock made the original M24 barrels. It's one of the most accurate rifles I've ever built. We call it Bob's M24gery If I can find the pics I'll post them |

Oooh get them up Mark. The chap i built this for is a great fella. he still has a shed load of webley,s and broomhandled mausers on historic tickets etc. he,s also a zulu war buff, with over 20 martini henri,s etc. He,s also a sniper rifle nut, with an unbelievable collection. He is also one of those lucky sod,s who is always in the right place at the right time. believe it or not, the diopter came off e-bay. he had no sooner bought it, at a silly time of night, than he was inundated with requests for sale. If i told you what he paid, you would cry. I did. OK Weber would not ship the front and rear replica mounts to him. the ones on the gun are originals...dont ask me where the hell he got them. I,ll be honest, i,m dizzy with the info he keeps coming up with, and i couldn,t remember which of the two guns he kept bringing in bits for. He bought a pair of genuine sling swivels the other day [ wichita ? ] for one of them. A US optics scope appeared [ a fixed 10 power ] Even the correct seekonk torque wrenches. I,ll introduce you....you would like him. |

Indeed, very nice Mark. The m24 is probarbly the harder one to build i reckon, as the actual spec didn,t vary much, so the correct parts are thin on the ground. The m40 [ which is next ] is gonna be much easier, purely for the fact, such a vast array of different manufacturers were ustilised over a long period of time.
I also need a much better camera. |

Message From The Old One.
The M24. After using one several time over with the U.S. Army Arizona National guard,on the world tour. After being instructed by the Nation Guard that the guns are for Mil us only and not civilians. That was like a red rag to a bull. The first one to hit the UK ( 4 to 5 years ago ) was put togerther by Mark Bradley using all original parts.Mick Rock 5r groove barrel,HS Precision stock, original floor plate, sling and original Iron sights as used for back up only in the event of scope damage. The photo Mark has posted is the one. This M24 shot a 15 second snap 4 shot group, holding a 17mm group.Thats less than a pound coin at 300 yards,I have the target and IT WAS WITNESSED. This gun and owner are cur'rent long range CSR Sniper Champion. The last competition shot with it was 2 sighters and 10 to count.Scoring one 5 first shot followed by 9Xs at 300 yards. Regards to all.
