I've shot it twice, good ETR bashing fun, although the COF is rather complicated at times !

Do I need a competition licence?..........

I shot it once, a few years ago. Yes it's good, but as above.pay attention so you don't wonder why everyone else is still shooting while you think you've finished................

I have shot it a few times, absolute madness, especially the stages where you have to swap between shoulders.
Good fun but sort out a metre zero as it's not yards and you get no sighters all day.

did you know most MOD ranges are yards labeled as meters. there was a study about it's effect a while ago but the cost of moving firing points and the actual difference for the troops resulted in no change.

Rifles are zero'd and left on the 300m battle sight setting

It`s a good shoot and it is a metric range but being an ETR hits only on all the stages out to 300mts you won`t notice any differance and it`s ideally suited to straight pulls because most stages are 20 rounds and fast, just add 1moa to your 400 and 500 yds setting and 2moa to your 600 yds setting however it`s not the elevation that tricky it`s windage that most people struggle with as you are shooting at a figure target at all distances with very little backstop to see your bullet impact, but if it were easy everyone would be doing it

Although I've never shot the new Kemble, only the old one at Ash, didn't they steal the 400-600M ripple stuff from us @ Fingringhoe and claim it as their own?

You mean you stole it off the Roupell chip, and increased the distance

ETA

That is of course is if it still running? The weekend use of MoD ranges has been cut this week. Unless it is a confirmed booking it will no doubt be cancelled.
Ranges will be open only 2 weekends a month, cost cutting, and civilian use is very low priority.

some small bore championship military matches have been binned already

The original ripple was stolen from the Roupell stage 2, shot twice with the second ten rounds in reverse order. The Close Encounter was blagged from the Roupell stage 3 with extra targets and positions.

The nice thing about the Kemble, and Fingringhoe, is that they favour minor calibre straight pulls at short range and major calibre bolt guns at long range, so its a level playing field.

Shouldn't make any difference in PR / CSR what the calibre is if the firer, rifle and ammunition are good

Seeing Peter going mental is all part of the fun and if the targetry goes bonkers you shoot again so in affect get a practice.
It's very worthwhile doing and if some of you guys from wasteland of the North want to come down for it you can come and crash at ours the night before and abuse the local hostelry
