Depends on how much oil and gas are found; I think that it would have to be an awful lot for Argentina to risk another war. The last Falklands conflict cost the Argentinian government their jobs - they attempted to retake the Falklands because their popularity was waning and they thought that Britain wouldn't fight. This time they know better.
There will be a lot less oil wars when we establish a proper alternative to petroleum driven cars! |

It would hardly be a fair fight either... Argentina's defence spending in 2008 was 2B Vs UK @ 57B. http://www.globalfirepower.com/ A lot has changed in 30 years and I can't see that they'd stand a snowball's chance if they tried it again. |

Quoted:
Hmm very clever move by Argies...when British Arm Forces are very strecthed in Middle East....If Argies are stupid enough to attack again we need someone like the Iron Lady leading the country... interesting developments we shall have to wait and see It's all bullshit and bollox from Buenos Aries, the game has changed and they are just bumping their gums. We have the ability to get enough reinforcements onto the Falklands within 48hrs to make it impossible to invade and they know it. Contrary to popular media myth, the RN is far better equipped to go take it back again if it had to compared with last time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZE5rQNLXlM |

Quoted: I'm going half way on the airbridge later on this yearQuoted: Portsmouth to the falkland in 24 hours what kinda boat is that then? Takes you half that to fly there. I think you will find it was mentioned that Argentina to the Falklands is 24hrs by boat And the airbridge is under 18hrs UK to FI |

You are damn right they want dialogue. They would rather sandpaper the asshole of an alligator in a phonebooth than go down that road again. |
