Two questions kind of related.............

1, What is the smallest .30 cal sound moderator available on the UK market. I am not concerned with weight or efficiency ( as long as it allows shooting without ear defenders ) Have done a bit of googling but not found smallest one yet.

2, I have heard an opinion which I feel is a bit paranoid but maybe you can help - a muzzle brake or sound moderator puts a certain amount of forward pressure on the barrel. I have been told that on a rifle where the barrel is drifted into the receiver and remains in situ by means of friction fit, this forward pressure could drift the barrel out over a long time ?

Steyr SSG rifles have a friction fit barrel. Their dedicated suppressed SSG was the only one which was screwed into the receiver which kind of reinforces the theory.

Have any of you moderated a Steyr rifle ? Any issues noticed with head spacing changing due to barrel drifting out ??

I have been offered a very nice STEYR SPG-T but would only buy it if I could moderate it.

My S5 is pretty compact, but I'm sure there's a smaller one out there. I know Steyrs have that different method orf mounting the bbl to the reciever. Never heard of headspace drifiting, if that happened then I'm sure there's something bigger wrong with the rifle than just adding a mod on the end.
