Well, you'd never think it.. would you?
I posted over on the General Discussion forum a thread entitled 'Hey Yanks, Who made you Boss' and got nothing but hatred from them. The post was in all jest to get a bite from them, hence the smiley and the following: Hey Yanks.. who made you boss? In anything? Name me something in the last couple of years that makes the good ole' USA stand out from the rest of the world? BTW.. I'm only looking for good bites " Well to cut a long story short, my platinum membership was threatened with termination! And all because I told some guy to go FH, and that was it! You wouldn't believe what some said in reply Seems they don't like certain home truths, and being late to two World Wars doesn't help either. BTW.. they feel they gave us all the gear to keep going during WW2. None of them realise that what they gave us we only just finished paying for in December 2006! They seem to think it was Charity. Americans.. I ask ya. BTW.. I live in Las Vegas, own AR's and AK's, along with Sig's, Springfield's and Colt 45's handguns. Fancy a shoot my fellow Brits? Get in touch. Cheers, Nobby. |

You made a complete idiot of yourself. You forget to realise you are on an American board and made some absolutely ridiculous comments that reflect on everyone. I thought you'd left the site because you haven't been around since. I will let you know that I do not associate anything you said in that thread with the views of any other brits on this board You should do yourself a favour in future and be careful what you say |
People think your my troll account!
You're getting me an even badder name!
Getting them to bite? No problem with that, it's my party piece here and gotten me a handful of bans and time outs over the years, but disrespecting their dead servicemen was not acceptable, you crossed a line there and If I were you I'd post a thread apologizing for that in GD… You'll gain respect for doing it. ETA: And it's a bit dissengenous to say they were 'late for the war'… By the end of 1940, 10,000 US 'Military Observers' were attached to all branches of the UK armed Forces. All those Catalina PBY's the RAF were using? Prior to 7 December 1941, most were flown by USN pilots on detached service as 'Military observers'… a lot of those 'observers' died in action over the North Atlantic. FWIW, both the RAF Catalina's that found the Bismarck in May 1941 had USN pilots on board. The USN was training all the Royal Navy's pilots from early 1941 too. By 1941, it was effectively open warfare between the USN and the Germans in the Atlantic, USS Kearney, USS Niblack and USS Rueben James ring any bells? And all that without including the thousands of American civilians who joined up with the RCAF, RAF and other branches of the Canadian and British armed forces to fight the Nazis. If Roosevelt could have gotten into the war sooner he would, the Gerrmans never gave him a big enough reason too, but it's not for want of US wanting to join in. FWIW… Do you know who were amongst the first civilians killed in WWII? Look up who was aboard the first merchant ship sunk in WWII, the SS Athena torpedoed within a few hours of the start on WWII, 3 September 1939. ETETA: There's a thread about you in the Pit were you can fight your corner with some VERY angry people, all bets are off and most rules don't apply down there so you can have at it and be as rude and abusive as you want as long as you leave wives and direct physical threats out of it… http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=130&t=826575 |

Ahhhh, gee, when you paint it in that light, it makes it sound as if you were ambushed. Of course, this is far from the truth, which is why you received the reception that you have. And, do keep it in mind, it is not that Americans do not like Brits, we love them, We just don't like YOU. See ya around, Knobby! |

What little I have seen of your output suggests that you have nothing sensible to post. It might be appropriate for you to find another site and perhaps another country to live in, you clearly don't think much of either the UK or the USA. And no thanks, I do not wish to shoot, or be associated with you in any other way. |

Moving on... My take |

(which by the way one who uses such a word sounds ghey anyways) Umm...You have not quoted him correctly. He spelled ignorant wrong. (I wonder if he can spell irony). As far as all of you other folks from the United Kingdom... I say "cheers" to you.
I have nothing but respect for the British, and the fight they gave the Germans during WWII. I've always pictured the people of England keeping a "stiff upper lip", and getting on with their daily lives the best they could...all while German bombs were falling on them. Thankfully, we have never had to endure air raids in America. The whole argument over America's involvement in WWII is retarded. OF COURSE the Americans did NOT single handedly defeat the Germans...It's absurd to think so... However; to discount our contribution and sacrifice is equally absurd, because it was a great one. Anyone who would deny that can go "sod off". (isn't that what you Brits say?)
BTW My grandfather on my mother's side was a waist gunner in a B-17... My step-grandfather on my mother's side (grandma remarried) flew a P-38... My grandfather on my FATHER'S side of the family stormed the beach on D-Day, and fought throughout the European theatre...including Germany. I also had two great uncles who fought in the war. I was very young when my grandfather on my Dad's side passed away. As a little boy, I can remember asking him the typical question a little boy asks a soldier: "Grandpa, did you shoot anybody in the war?"... He would never talk to me about that. I only remember him ever telling me two things about the war... something vague about German booby traps...and, he told me he could remember a few times when he was so scared he could have crapped his pants. There is a trunk in my Grandmother's attic that has his uniform, medals, letters home, his Garand bayonet...a NAZI youth dagger, a K98 bayonet, some other kind of German knife, and some sort of German silver decorative tassel with (like a sword tassel or something). My other Grandfather is still alive, and living in Pennsylvania. He speaks very matter of factly about his experience. I once asked him: "What was the name of the B-17 you flew in?" He replied: "Meh...I flew in a few different ones. I don't think any of them had names." |

Ta ta Old Boy, dont rush back.
