The course of fire and entry forms have been emailed out. So who's going? I already entered SUNDAY MORNING 22nd FEBRUARY 2009 START TIME 08.00 Assemble at the 300-yard car park on the RHS of Century Range. MATCH 4 – ASSOCIATION CUP - NRA “QUEEN MARY” - MODIFIED Practice 1 (Harassing Fire) Distance:500 yards. Position:Prone unsupported. Shots:Two sighting shots and ten to count. Target:Triple DP1. Timing:One timed exposure of 60 seconds. Scoring:5 on the central target for a hit inside the 300mm circle, 4 for a hit elsewhere on the central target and 2 for a hit anywhere on the other two targets. HPS:50. Procedure:1.After the two sighting shots have been fired and signalled, firers will be ordered to apply safety catches, stand up and adopt the Patrol (standing alert) position. 2.On the appearance of the targets for 60 seconds, firers will adopt the prone unsupported position and fire ten rounds. 3.Scores will be communicated to the firing point and spotting discs shown for 25 seconds. Practice 2 (Fire with Movement) Distance:500 to 300 yards. Position:At 500 yards, prone unsupported. At 400 yards, sitting, kneeling or squatting. At 300 yards, prone unsupported. Shots:Ten to count. Target:At 500 and 400 yards: Triple DP1. At 300 yards: Half DP1 (DP12). Timing:One exposure of 15 sec at 500 yards. 15 sec later there will be a 1 sec exposure followed 30 sec later by 2 exposures of 8 sec with a 10 sec interval between exposures at 400 yards. 15 sec later there will be a 1 sec exposure followed 30 sec later by 2 exposures of 8 sec with a 10 sec interval between exposures at 300 yards. Scoring:At 500 and 400 yards: 5 on the central target for a hit inside the 300mm circle, 4 for a hit elsewhere on the central target and 2 for a hit anywhere on the other two targets. At 300 yards: 5 and 4 on the Half DP1 (DP12). HPS:50. Procedure:1.At 500 yards, firers are to be in the Patrol (standing alert) position, rifles loaded, made ready and safety catches applied. 2.When the targets appear, firers are to adopt the prone position and fire two rounds. 3.On each subsequent appearance of the targets, they are to advance to the next firing point and fire two rounds at each exposure of the target. Positions for firing will be as above. They may not change their position until they are required to advance to the next firing point. 4.Safety catches must be fully applied during all movement. 5.At the end of the practice spotting discs will be shown for 25 seconds. 6.The number and value of hits will be communicated to the firing point. Practice 3 (Rapid) Distance:300 yards. Position:Prone unsupported. Shots:Two sighting shots and ten to count. Target:Two DP1. Timing:40 seconds. Scoring:5 and 4. HPS:50. Procedure:1.After sighting shots competitors are to adopt the Patrol (standing alert) position with rifles loaded, made ready and safety catches applied. 2.On the appearance of the targets the competitors are to adopt the prone position and open fire. 3.Not more than 5 hits will count on each target. 4.Spotting discs are to be shown and scores communicated from the butts as in Practice 2. Practice 4 (Snap) Distance:300 yards. Position:Prone unsupported. Shots:Two sighting shots and ten to count. Targets:One Half DP1 (DP12). Timing:10 exposures of three seconds with irregular intervals over a period of five minutes. Scoring:5 and 4. HPS:50. Procedure:1.On completion of sighting shots rifles will be made ready with ten rounds (Para 366(b)) and the firer will adopt the prone unsupported position. 2.Targets will be exposed randomly over a frontage of six feet. 3.Only one shot may be fired at each exposure. 4.Spotting discs are to be shown and scores communicated from the butt as in Practice 2. SUNDAY AFTERNOON 22nd FEBRUARY 2009 START TIME 13.15 Assemble at the 300-yard car park on the RHS of Century Range. AMU MATCH 308: SECRETARY OF THE ARMY (SECARMY) RIFLE MATCH (AMENDED FOR UK BOLT-ACTIONED RIFLES) Stage 1 - Precision Slow Fire Distance: 200 yards. Position: Standing. Shots: 2 sighting shots followed by 10 to count. Target:One half DP1 target. Scoring 5 and 4. Timing: 10 minutes. Procedure: Shots will be scored after the 10 rounds to count. Stage 2 - Rapid Fire Sitting Distance: 200 yards. Position: Patrol (standing alert) to Sitting. Shots: 2 sighting shots followed by 10 to count (1 magazine of 2, 1 magazine of 8). Target:Two DP1 targets. Scoring 5 and 4. Timing: 50 seconds. Procedure:Competitors will begin the stage in the Patrol (standing alert) position. Upon the appearance of the targets, competitors will assume the Sitting position and engage their target with 5 rounds on each. Note:This stage requires a magazine change. Stage 3 - Rapid Fire Prone Distance: 300 yards. Position: Patrol (standing alert) to Prone Unsupported. Shots: 2 sighting shots followed by 10 to count (1 magazine of 2, 1 magazine of 8). Target: One half DP1 target. Scoring 5 and 4. Timing: 60 seconds. Procedure:Competitors will begin the stage in the Patrol (standing alert) position. Upon the appearance of the targets, competitors will assume the Prone Unsupported position and engage their target. Note:This stage requires a magazine change. |

(whatever they are)Got the club's AGM on the Saturday night, as I'm on the committee (in charge of DPM and large magazine related issues) These courses are run over 2 weeks at a very reasonable cost
