Anyone see it last night? Got to hand it to him, I know he gets paid big bucks but credit where credits due. |
|
Watched it..... a real eye opener.
When they were in the first TiC as they walked through the maize field, did anyone see the white turban of on of the Taliban lying in the grass? I saw it fleetingly but it doesn't half make you realise how close they are being drawn in before ambushes are sprung. I presume it's to discourage Arty and Air being deployed......if you are too close then blue on blues are going to occur and the public won't like that......
Got to really admire troops and the courage and dedication to their mates. Got to admire Ross Kemp and his crew as well for being dedicated enough to bring the reality home. |

The tactic is called 'hanging on to the enemies belt'… the Viet Cong developed it to deal with overwhelming US firepower, and yes, it can and does cause a lot of Blue on Blues. |

Must admit I'm not a Ross Kemp fan, Eastenders, 'Ultimate Farce' and all that. Still, perhaps I should give his documentaries a chance as he seems quite well regarded in this field....... Well worth watching.....know what you men about CoronationFarmEnders.....utter drivel. Provided you can get past the vision of him in Bellenders then you'll find it really good, I'm sure. I never watched Bellenders so I'm untainted by that depressing vision. |
| For those without Sky or Sky plus, last nights episode can be found here on youtube. |

I think what he is doing is fantastic as it is a real insight into what our armed forces face everyday and anything that highlights that to the average person in the street is a great idea
I'm not a big fan of Ross Kemp either - I don't watch rear enders; however I did once sit through an epsiode of ultimate farce - and unless the country is threatened by an overloaded cake van; I don't think he would be of much use. I also think that he tries to sound too military when narrating. Whilst everyone with forces connections knows what he is talking about- joe public won't and that will lose viewers. Regardless, I will be watching the whole series! |

Ta very much |

Did anyone see the ANA guy standing and firing his M16 from the hip while all around were in cover, obviously took his 'mentoring' very seriously He was also on the radio. Now it is very hard to use the radio and have both hands on the rifle, give him a break. I remember watching a friend's 'holiday' video of an ambush of a Russian convoy by the mujahideen. After about a million rounds and 20 minutes they went to see what they'd hit, aiming being a foreign concept to them. The Russians crawled out from under their truck without a single wound. Not sure what happened after that, thankfully the video was stopped. |

I'm having flash-back visions of s-f and napalm re-enacting the throat cutting incident on the firing point. I had napalm on the floor and was sawing ath his neck with a Swiss Army knife, and Sarony started shouting at him ![]() |
