Spent a very enjoyable afternoon at Radway Green looking at some possible work for my company.

There's certainly no shortage of brass or bullets there, they make about 2,500,000 rounds a day.

Saw the whole process from start to finish, very impressive, only thing now is to find the staff shop.

One thing did come to light is that they might be open to a factory visit, they've done it before and may do it again, if we ask nicely, anyone interested.

6 miles from my house, most of the old factory is now a Buisness Park

You can clearly see the factory as you go north on the M6 just after J16. Its only half a mile from the motorway

It would be good....they may poopoo the idea on the grounds of security......but it's worth a go....after all.. most of us are licensed to posess ammo

Tightest securty Ive seen outside military installations was a cigarette factory.....tighter security than Heathrow Airport..

Before gulf war 1 they had regular open days at Radway Green, with a fairground
factory tour hog roast you name it.

Back in the 80's you could pay to shoot on the range. I went with my Dad
a couple of times (I was to young to shoot). It was a 25mtr Barrack range
(or obsolete 30 mtr)IIRC

That range is now apparentley gone and testing there is done underground.

It is (or was) a very interesting place to visit if you have the kind on interest required

Inspected a sportswear retailer, they took details of your shoes before going staff side.  Apparently visitors had been known to bin their old trainers and walk out with new ones from the stock room  And the mobile phone shop checked the IMEI of my phones before letting look round.  Won't talk about the banks and security companies

PICS?

No pics, it didn't happen. It's an ARFcom rule, or old charter or something.

Sounds like a road trip is in order.
Count me in.

I don't think pics are allowed, however I can vouch 100% he was there, and he was also
recently at Warton nr Preston, looking round the Euro fighter. He does alot of work and consultancy for BAE systems.

Well today I was shooting these, 50 though the pistol, and 80 through the GSG5.

Took my K98 with me planing on selling it, because of my gamy shoulder, but first I wanted to dispose of the last 60 or so rounds that I had for it, so I started off, fired the first 5 and had a 49 from 50, the second 5 down range gave me 50 from 50 all in the inner ten ring, darned if I'll be selling that gun now, gamy shoulder or not. BTW., the pain has started to set in.
