Mr Bradley is currently constructing a .22 RF M-4 Clone for me.
As I intend to use it mainly on the pistol ranges at bisley, I am looking to put a red dot sight on it. Of the two, which do people prefer and why? Many Thanks! |

Of the two you've listed I'd go for the c-more (tactical, with back-up peep sight). This is because the c-more is just a plain dot whereas I find the Eotech sight picture a bit cluttered (you have no need for a ranging ring, it's just obscuring the target area). Also the c-more can have different dot size modules fitted, in a good range from .5moa to 16moa. You might want different sizes depending on the mean range you will be shooting at.
However, if you're looking at spending that kind of money I'd go for an Aimpoint, because again it's just a plain dot and that's all you need, 2moa will do for everything. Also your two options are both open frame sights and will be badly affected by rain, whereas the tube type construction is less prone to being obscured by water droplets. The best all round, and fugliest, dot sight I've seen is the Tasco PDP Comp 5. 39mm front objective so an awesome FOV, 11 brightness settings and adjustable dot size in 2, 4, 8 & 16moa. I still have a well worn example and it's been on most of my firearms at some stage. If I could find another new or in good condition I'd buy it, but they haven't been available for some time. Not a battle sight, great for comp shooting though. |

And where would be the best place to get one in the UK?
Would they be cheaper in the states? I might be going to Florida with my job; so potentially I could get one then - are there any export restrictions (i.e. will I get pulled up at customs; as I know the US has really cracked down on gun related products recently) |

Hi,
Was just reading this thread as I am tempted by an Eotech myself. Does anyone know somewhere that sells them? I looked at Viking arms but when I click Eotech on there it just links to the actual Eotech site. I guess they are the importers but don't actually sell them on. I found them on a couple of airsoft type websites but they are all out of stock on there. Specifically im interested in a 512. -Paul |
| I got my Eotech 512 from Claytons Guns its superb. I did buy a few bits and bobs from the US version Evil bay for it though. The GG&G lense covers are a good addition also the GG&G quick release latch. I didnt bother with the battlach extended battery compartment arm as it is now standard on all new Eotech sites |

I did check claytonsguns but they don't have in in stock and said they are having trouble with their supplier and don't know when they will be able to get any.
The only place I have found that seems to have any has a 512 at £454. That seems a little steep. Or is that the going rate? |

Nice find!!! I have not used them before (and my german is a bit ropey). Has anyone ordered from them to the UK? Any problems? And - How do i add something to my basket lol!!! |

Spoke to Oberland. They were very helpful.
They can ship Eotechs to the UK but 512's are out of stock on back order. They will have them in about 3 weeks he reckons. I wonder if i would get stung on VAT and import duty though. It looks like about: £375 from oberland but could incurr extra costs or £454 from patrolstore and the shipping is pretty reasonable. I think i might grab one but not sure where from yet. My problem is that I am impatient when it comes to new toys |
