Hi all,
Finally picked up my new 10/22 tonight and I'm having a few teething problems. This is a list of the parts

Tactical Solutions .920 barrel
Tactical Innovations Receiver
Superior Concepts Tactical Charging handle and spring
Rimfire Tech adjustable V-block
Kid Bolt
Kid Bolt Buffer
Titanium firing pin
EDM extractor
Kid over sized trigger pins
Kid 2 stage match trigger

The rifle seems to function ok. however every couple of mags it jamms. A round extracts then gets caught sideways by the bolt as it chambers the next round. I have tried different ammo and get in will all of them. However it seems to occur less with the high velocity stuff. Do you think it is a running in thing as everything is new or do you think something is a miss?

I ran about 400 rounds through it tonight and it jammed about 16 times

It might just be a running in thing.
However does it do it with the same mag or different ones? I've found in the past that some 10/22s can be mag sensitive. if the something drags on the bolt then it can slow it enough to cause FTEs.

I thought of that one aswell. I tried a mixture of mags. Promag 50 drum, MWG 50 round tear drop, TI25, standard ruger and buttler creek 10 round and 25 roung and 30 roung eagle mag. Strange thing is I could blast through 50 rounds no jams then put the same mag back in and get a jam.

Beeswax coated Scoremaster was my downfall.... Switched to MiniMag and totally stripped and cleaned the gun and (touch wood) almost never had a stoppage since...

What are you feeding it?

It's a Ruger.......

ETA: If I was a round of .22 ammo faced with going through that thing, I think I'd do my best to jam too.......

Well technically its not as there isn't a single ruger part on it and it isn't listed as a ruger on my FAC due to that. Just thought someone might have some ideas.

I have fed the beast the following

CCI Mini Mag
Federal High Velocity
Remington Golden Bullet
Aguilla High velocity
CCI Standard Velocity

It jammed less with the aguilla HV stuff

Well there's your problem, it seems the more you trick them up the problems you get.  Mine is basic ruger and runs on mini mags and hardly misses a beat.  It even copes with an old Eagle 30rd plastic lipped mag.

Try asking over at Rimfirecentral, somebody there might have useful suggestions

Well I Try. I think it should be ok once its teething problems are sorted. The rifle feels well balanced and the Eotech is a good site. I tried the Eotech 3* mag tonight that the girlfriedn bought me ant thats spot on too. I just wished the rifle behaved a bit better. I have 500 rounds to run it in tomorrow night. I will see how it goes

Well said Steve, my thoughts to a T.

My 10/22 has never had a stoppage in the 5 or so years since I got it and I have thrown all sorts of ammo down range.

Sorry me not much help.

Tony

It think the gun is so heavy, it's created it's own gravity distortion field, a sort of 10/22 Black Hole that is causing the gun to compress in on itself, hence the jamming.

Have you tried mounting it to one of these?

Might help when running round those mini-rifle stages

Same here. I have a basic Ruger which I put a Volq. trigger in. That's it.

The most reliable 22 semi I have. It's had 100s of thousands rounds of all sorts through it and it's won more comps and stages than I can remember in many different disciplines, from mini rifle to speed steels, adv tgt to 1500. All the action comps where speed and reliability are paramount.

Sometimes £200 is all you need to spend. (that's incl the £40 1.5-5 power scope)

Think I have located the problem. The buffer spring on the bolt handle is a little strong. Silly me didnt read all the instructions sayin it needs running in

LoL its not as heavy as I thought it would be. However I should have just got an AR in .22 It would have been less trouble. lesson learned

The word KAK springs to mind looking at this one

All fixed. Working with no jamms . However managed to scratch the barrel One of my stock screws holding the rail on was a couple mm too long. Its put a little round mark on the side of the barrel taking the red anodizing off. Theres nothing I can do about it, however its covered by the stock so doesnt matter that much. Its shooting fantastic now

Mousegunner-UK is not KAK. Its just not your cup of tea. I have another slot for a 22lr and will be getting a AR15 at some point.
