My renewal went in the day back in November, the FLO finally turned outon the 12th January to issue me with a 30 day holding ticket... He said it would be back in a fortnight..

Phoned on 15th February and asked how much longer and was told another few weeks..

Said that the temp ticket was now expired and I was not happy.... Voila, ticket arrived 2 days later... With a couple of additions

I dropped my ticket off for a variation Thursday last week and I've already had the home visit by the FEO who approved everything, and even gave me his mobile number in case they are slow in printing the ticket and sending it back. Very happy with the service I'm getting here

You should all name the counties so we can have a sticky thread about how long variations/renewals are taking...

Greater Manchester Police are outstanding.

Fastest turn-around from dropping it in the post office to having it land back on my doorstep varied is 4 days

The longest they've taken for me to receive a variation is 2 weeks (over the easter hols)

When I first applied, the ticket was issued within 8 days of submitting the application.

I've always found them to be realistic, reasonable, pretty knowledgable and very helpful whenever I have had an enquiry. I have 22 slots on my ticket and have never had a problem with refusals. Having said that I have always given sound justification for the kit I use.

I got one in 6 days a couple of weeks ago, and a mate of mine
actually got one done while he waited (Cheshire)

A member of our club has been witing a long time now for
his newly granted FAC to come through though

No problems with Grampian, 1 for 1 variation 7days turnround, first issue about 6 weeks for a new club member. Good attitude about what you can have and no crap with  "local policies " taking precedence  over the various Firearms Acts.

That's good that they have changed. In '93-'95, they were real a'holes, and that was a 'Service Club'!

Gloucestershire v slow - 3 months for a change of use - nothing extra, just a varying a condition to include target shooting for something I already had for pest/vermin control!

The reason was "this new computer system we've got"...
