Anyone else excited about these? Got word today that the first batch (of I think 10) is in the country, and we are getting 4 delivered on Friday Can't wait to play with one! Going to be down the range first thing Saturday morning. There's gonna be a lot of .22 brass flying about I'll post a review on here ASAP... I hope they are as good as expected... |
Have you got your 4 allocated ? I want one sending to my RFD Steve |
Yes! We were top of the list with the importers so were lucky enough to get that many... But we have 5 customers atm with their names down for them, so no going spare atm. We are of course keeping one personally to test ETA: supply is a bit scarce atm, but there will be plenty around when the second batch comes in! |

Rumour I hear is there are 40 coming. As a side note, and I'm not suggesting it in any way, but, I have an aversion to "new" .22rf semi's in particular circumstances as I nearly bought a "brand new" Rhineland Arms R22 when they first came in, only to discover that my aforementioned "brand new, never been fired" rifle was actually being used as a demonstrator for all and sundry ![]() The term "stick it up your ass" sprung to mind |
It may be 40, i'm unsure on the exact amount, but i know 4 will land on my doorstep on friday, and i can't wait! Its just dishonest to sell test guns as new... I'd never do that. Usually have to wait until someone i know buys one, but as my dad is putting on on his ticket, i can shoot it all i want |
Well you'd better post some pics |
You're too sensitive, the term 'significant discount' would have come to my mind..... |
WNSC Mini Rifle day!
|
Especially now you know you could sell it on for big bucks, I still get people asking me where they can get one. |
That isn't for a month!!! I'm doing WNSC PSG on Sat, so i'll take it there, and the RO's normally let me have a play if i ask nicely Oh, and pics will be added ASAP |
Damn, I didn't realised it alternated with PSG! I don't do shotguns, except for work, they're so uncouth..... Double damn, the next mini-rifle comp I can make is July! |
Just bought the latest issue of shooting sports.....inside theres a lame 'review' of the GSG .22 by Pete Moore.....no mention of accuracy potential... as his HV ammo wouldnt work and he only had 1 box of subs to hand...Kinda pointless if you asked me, not so much a review, more of a 3 page advert ![]() Oh well. will have to satisfy myself with shooting one tomorrow...... ![]() ETA - In his blurb he mentions that due to the availability of folding stocks, the barrels couldnt be shortened to 12", despite still having an OAL of 24" if you used the fixed stock. Is this BS ? |
My impression exactly!
My question exactly! If true I think a lot of people will be disappointed. And I'm amazed he only took 2 types of ammo to test a brand new rimfire rifle! Sounds a bit fishy to me. I once bought a SGC .22 rf on the strength of a good Pete Moore review in Shooting Sports (as did quite a few others who were also taken in) and it took almost 2 years and numerous trips back to Cornwall to get it sorted! Caveat emptor! Regards, Ex-Geronimo. |
B**locks, he thinks my AK cocking handle is great ![]() I was at Sabre today and they have them coming in too, but directly from the manufacturer, at prices more competitive than Centra. I had a look at a German review while I was there, and it loks OK to me |
Sounds like cock to me. Nothing stopping me fitting a side folding stock to me stumpy Bremmer is there? Working on his concept, any rifle with a wooden stock should come with a 12" barrel due to the ready avaiiability of hacksaws. |
Was that a V22? If so I'm really surprised. I've had mine 5 years now and all I've ever had was a replacement firing pin. The Ceiner type mags are crap of course but the CNC ones, 10 round and 22/25 round have always been good, and now that BDM's are available it remains my most used gun. |
Here's another review of the rifle, far better and more comprehensive than the one in target sports Linky You can see from one of the photo's link how easy the stock is removed. I guess caution is being played here to ensure its kept section 1........The truth of the matter is more likely to be the fact that this is done to cater for the US market. If classed as a short barreled rifle it attracts a $200 tax levy which could make it unattractively expensive for a .22 rifle. I guess we've benefited for once hinking.gif I'd be interested to hear what the rifles like, I'm consider trading in my 10/22 if they perform reasonably well. |
No, it was a you can't bend it DPMS M4 clone. Bob brought about 40 into the country and from what he tells me there were few, if any, he didn't have problems with. Shooting Sports gave it a great write up and said it worked with subs, std and hyper ammo without a hitch, and maybe the test one did, but not the production ones! I eventually found the answers on here in the rimfire forum from some very experienced American chaps and so the rifle was sent back and forward to get parts replaced and the trigger mech changed (you can't put an after-market trigger in), new magazines added (as they had to be checked individually for rifle fit) etc and with SGC turn round times it took the guts of 2 years to get it to shoot!! Every time I phoned I was met with a severe lack of interest from Bob who was clearly unable or unwilling to sort it out. And this was a £1200 rifle!!!! Anyway it's water under the bridge now but I'll never again buy anything from SGC! Best regards, Ex-Geronimo. |
