Brownells 30 round mags with a Magpul follower and Ranger Plate work fine for me.

Also the 20 Round USGI ones (or whatever they are called) that Streetfighter has loads of work well as also.

Tried a Magpul plastic magazine and that seemed to feed well .....although time will probably tell with them.

Magpul ranger plates (for 30 rounders) and anti tilt followers

ETA - I have some of the HK mags too, but  be aware that the magpul ranger plates won't fit these mags.

30 rd metal Stoner mags with Magpul followers and ranger plate.

I've also got a couple of 30 rd Promag polymer mags. I found that they didn't lock in initially but a little work with a knife sorted that out and now they're fine.

H&K Mags, virtually soldier proof and stoppage free. Use them all the time, still got some Colt and Adventure line 30rnd in reserve.  Never rated the RG mags, too many mag related stoppages.

Standard USGI 30 round ones with a ranger plate & Magpul follower for CSR. Old USGI 20 round straight mags for Highpower. Anything that fits for the Whisper.

+1 on the H&K mags. Best out there IMO... if you can get your hands on them. i'm lucky enough to have 6

I had some HK mags but they weren't for me.
Nothing wrong with them but heavy and didn't do anything a USGI wouldn't do, so I sold them.
I have noticed though that performance in AR's tends to vary from rifle to rifle

Never had any issuses with RG mags using RG ammo which is what they are designed for, this includes use in several SA80 A1's and my AR's.

They are tough, light and durable. I have changed the followers in some of mine and they are faultless

Do agree the H&K mags are heavy, but again, flawless in operation, as are USGI, P Mags DPMS ect ect ect.

Biggest problem I find is cartridge OAL. ??

Alot is user preferance, once your mind is made up, its hard for anyone to change it.

Did any of you get stung for import tax on the BDM mags ? Just deciding if one or two mags per order is best ??

I was worried about that  got stung bad on some boots I got for my birthday. so I have had them sent to a US address to be collected next week.

They haven't arrived yet so I remain optimistic. I know Dan was overwhelmed with orders and he said mine should be here @4th Feb.

I didn't get any for the Beta test mag he sent me but it was zero valued. I didn't get any for stuff sent from Brownells not too long ago either.

I have been caught before though. It's the purchase cost+any duty+shipping+VAT on the whole lot. So yes you get taxed twice on the same goods and you're carrier might add a handling charge as well.Bastages

Guys:

Please let me know if there is anything I can do on my end to help minimize the import taxes on your end. I suppose I could declare the mags as having no commercial value on the customs forms. However, this may cause problems when I try to purchase insurance for those who choose that option.

I will do whatever I can to help, as long as it is legal and doesn't require me to fly into Heathrow with my large intestine crammed full of BDM mags.

Thanks,

Dan
