So, question for those of you who have experience of both, which is the most accurate, a semi-auto or a straight pull, given the same barrel length, chambering and ammunition. I don't mean factory guns.......recreational ones

Both as good as each other especially a well made and put together S/A AR. Most of them shoot sub MOA easily.

Not having much experience with S/A, I would still say that there is no different in accuracy. However, it is frequently easier to get a tighter group with an S/A because when you rack the gun you alter your position very slightly, unless you can completely detatch the motion ot your arm from that of the reat of your body.

I can get a better score with an L85A2 in a Match 8 (Methuen) shooting Ball ammo.
Than I can with a UK AR15 shooting match ammo

So, for SR I would say the SA wins!

I did wonder. I'm not interested in the shooters side etc., purely the mechanical efficiency of the two types of action involved, and their comparative effect on accuracy. Ta for the responses
