What is your favourite AR configuration?
If you were limited to 1 black rifle what would you choose?

I'd probably just go with my 14.5 inch barreled M4.  The weight isn't substantially less than a 20" barrel but I live in an urban environment and am more likely to have to enter a building and need the ease of mobility that a short barreled weapon affords than the aiblity to shoot out to distances in excess of 400 meters that I'd get with a longer barrel.

Out of the four I own without a doubt my 14" carbine

Has a douglas barrell , NSN and can match my 20" match AR up to 300 metres, but has half the weight.

(Only problem is that fat Bob has it at the moment so I can't use it at Bangor)

I'd go with the 18" middle sized one, bit more usable range than a 14.5", not noticably less than the 20" - but a bit lighter... Flat top receiver of course.

Do I need to say it, I only have the one, and I worship it's prowess.

I was on the range last night, and let a few of the range nazi's have a shoot with it, although this made me somewhat jealous seeing other's holding and shooting my XR15 A4 20". I persevered, and those that fired her all came away with a smile on their face's. They were amazed that the bushnell red-dot sight that I have mounted was so good for use @ 100m's.

Pimped my (AR) XR-15, in the meantime I have added the G27 pistol grip and front handguard's  with rail's from the same Co. I'm now eagerly awaiting something that Sintec1 said he could give me to complete the package.

He fitted that hand guard

He does not use a standard thread, so it had to go back to be re-threaded

Pep,
Can you get a rear sight to line up with the front sight on that hi-rider?

Hi Matt

I have got a Bushmaster carry handle that will attach, has a built in sight, does match up but not very well.

Paid a visit to Mr Streetfighter today, will post a picture of what the carbine now looks like later
