Is citizenship vital or is the goal to live/work/run a business there. Citizenship might be difficult but Sung or somebody else can tell you more about that

Switzerland is not part of the EU but you can profit from some EU association agreements to establish yourself there. You would need to marry or become a EU citizen (of one the old member states) for this.

Would seem a shame to go away from the USA so I would advise to think carefully about this.
