I decided to do a roll call thread, all I want you to do is answer the thread, with "here" or some equally adequate comment, one post per person please, just to see how often people visit the €HTF Please feel free to use the random thread for any suggestions on how we can breathe some life into the €HTF. Is your roll call only for Europeans or anyone who is interested in the EHTF? If you visit us sign in Tony Be nice if you'd sometimes post here to I visit almost every day (UKHTF too) since I'm interested in the guns and shooting activities of people outside of the US. Typically only post when I have a question. |

Here sir. Texan w/ family near Stuttgart and Munich. I have a trip planned for next spring back to the Munich area so I plan on asking about WW2 sites to visit and such. Been a lurker in the past because I havent felt qualifed to chime in. Glad to be here gents...so I guess my suggestion to spruce up the forum would be info on tourism related ideas. Since you guys live and work there, who better to know cool places to go and see. Maybe set up some meets when ARFCommers are in your areas...?
ETA - One post allowed but thanks HRT. I will have lots of questions in the not too distant future! |

American Battle Monuments Commission (cemeteries and monuments) You can drive along the western border near France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Holland and find tons of bunkers, dragon's teeth, memorials featuring German Panzers, and hike old battlefields and see trenches, foxholes, and still literally find remnants from those battles 67 years ago (e.g. hike the HĂĽrtgen Forest). It would have been too expensive and destructive to demolish German bunkers, so farmers and city planners simply built structures around them and life went on. |

I will have lots of questions in the not too distant future! Welcome! I'm originally from San Antonio, living south of Munich now (towards Bad Toelz). We (as in toemag and I, he lives only 10mls. from here) get together with fellow ARCOMMERS and take them to the range here (toemag has an AR15, the HH6 and I have a M4 and a G36). There are plenty of things to do and to see in the area. Just let us know. |

I think Tony is on the road, but I believe he doesn't mind if I answer this for him.
His rifle is from this guy: Blendinger Tony has some larger scaled pics on his Facebook page.

My family lives in Durnbach and Gmund am Tegernsee which are both a short distance from Bad Tolz. Living close to Austin now for work... ETA - I am envious. What do you do to be able to live there? .Mil? |

Tex 5-0, are you in LE? (the 5-0 sounds like it, or you have a 5 Liter Mustang. LOL) If so, I can take you to the Munich PD HQ if you are interested. I am and that would be good to go with me. I wish it was tomorrow but I'm still a year out so dont rush on planning. I will be in touch as time goes on. Thanks and look forward to spending more time in the forum with you guys... |

10-4. We start the planning process when the time comes closer. Bach, we have several Hundertschaften. A Hundertschaft is like a company sized unit of readiness or "stand-by" police. Usually they consist of rookies who handle riot control at soccer games, demonstrations, road blocks for convoys etc. I know some guys that are platoon leaders on the EH (Einsatzhundertschaft), but usually don't hang out with them. 5-0, I can show you the Munich PD operations center, the motor pool, one of the CID offices, a regular substation and whatever else you might be interested in. You need to bring your LEO credentials though, since I can't get civilians in sensitive areas. |

I met some of members from the Munich Hundertschaft a few years ago when I was staying with a member of a Hundertschaft in NRW; apparently they mobilize for large events, such as Karnival in Köln and the FIFA World Cup events and the G10 summits. I'll bring my creds when we come visit this summer. BTW, Mike, are you active on the competitive shooting circuit in Germany? If so, then you may know some of my friends with whom I worked and shot a few times... |

The individual States deploy their Hundertschaften across the country for large events such as the Carnival, or the Stuttgart 21 demonstrations, as well as the Castor nuclear transports. So you ran into a few of them, cool. I'd be glad to take you, and 5-0 when he comes into country, to some of the places. Competitive as in IPSC? I did shoot the Münchner Stadtmeisterschaft in Philipsburg with the SAM guys and know a few of them. All other than that I focus on long range shooting (rifle) with the German .mil and some practical pistol stuff within our own gunclub. I can take you on range, or Tony and I take you to Tonys club, when you come to Germany. |

Have you ever shot/competed with Oliver Damm and/or Klaus Maier (both in Berlin now)? Yes, I shot with Oliver at the Munich Open in Philippsburg last month. He made first, I made, oh well never mind. Klaus I didn't run into yet. Klaus and Oliver work together (previously in Meckenheim, now in Berlin). A few years ago we all visited Oberndorf and then attended IWA together as HK's guests. I don't know whether I'll make it back to Berlin this time, as we're focusing more on your AO and further east. BTW, would you happen to have any good leads on budget FeWos in your AO? |

Visit here often. Like to see what my shooting brethren across the big pond are up to. Welcome brother! Feel free to jump in any time. Bach, I wasn't aware that both of them are in Berlin now. Good for them (hopefully, since I consider Berlin a shithole). What size of FeWo are you looking for? Pricerange? You are right, our AO is much nicer than the rest of the country.

I've been scanning CraigsList München and CraigsList Wien for leads... |

Are we talking FeWo or room? €50 is tight, but I know a guy that owns a hotel. I usually put family and friends there,
I can ask him if you shoot me the dates you need the room- It's 5 minutes from the S-Bahn station and it takes about 15 minutes to get downtown Munich. |

Preferably FeWo, but room would work too. We'd be interested in more info/details about the hotel as well. Thanks! |

That's a nice toy Tony! Feels really nice. I shot the Romanian long version with the wooden foregrip, this short barrel paratrooper version is also really nice!
