Next month we will be offering the following classes:
-Defensive Long Gun: March 9th, 2013 This class covers the fundamentals of using a rifle or shotgun for self defense at typical self defense distances. Topics include: Advantages and disadvantages of different types of firearms, equipment and ammo Combative Safety and Legal Issues How to fight at close range with a long gun Movement and cover Retention and striking Reloading and malfunction clearance Transitioning to a handgun How to aim effectively at medium range and much more! Please bring at least 50 rounds for each rifle, pistol or shotgun. No ported handguns or single-point slings, please. -NRA Metallic Cartridge Reloading: March 12th-14th in the evenings FUNdamentals of safe and effective reloading of metallic cartridges Tips and tricks learned from decades of safe reloading This is a hands-on class where students load ammo, not just talk about it -Defensive Handgun I (NM Concealed Handgun License): March 23rd-24th Exceeds the requirements for a NMCHL This is a class focused on how to avoid danger and maintain a high level of awareness and safety If danger cannot be avoided or escaped we learn how to fight with a handgun vs. how to be better at target shooting Based upon techniques shown to be most effective, via scientific analysis, for self defense and not competition scores Techniques are easy to learn and share with your family and friends We teach good communication, movement, drawing, shooting and holstering skills optimized for self defense, not sport Live fire exercises include the above skills. Train like you would fight! Fingerprints and Notary Services are included! Please bring at least 50 rounds for each handgun you wish to shoot. No ported handguns, please.
