In my experience with many LED conversions, they are five times, or much more with recent tech, as efficient as incandescent bulbs. Heat should be a non-issue and the new head appears to be aluminum, which will act as a heatsink. It would be truly awesome to have Milkyspit on candlepower fourms modify one of these with a Cree XM-l to put out 500+ lumens...
