Bought a lower by Firebird Precision at the Albuquerque gun show. They are a New Mexico company and I just wanted to say this is the finest lower I've bought. They are drilled and tapped for the trigger slop pin and to tighten the upper and lower receiver fit. They did not come with the threaded insert, the little allen wrench slug was easily found at home depot.

If you see one for sale buy with confidence.

I almost bought one at the last show but the G man's were more in line with my pricing.  Their billet lower even had nice little finger groves in front of the mag well to hold onto.  Awesome set up but they wanted 3?? something.  Twice the g man's.

Again, nice though.

Mine was not billet, just nicely machined. Pics may or may not be coming, need to pull out a camera and all for that.

I paid $140 for it.

Thanks for the heads up.  I think I found their webpage, but it looks like they have yet to get the page going in ernest.  Here is the link (cold):

It wouldn't break my heart to have one of these companies local.  I too picked up one of Gman's lowers, and could not be happier.  Very well made, all parts fitting perfectly.  But, my first car was a Firebird.  Yea, I'd likley be a sucker for the logo, and made in NM.

That's their website, they had the coolest P-Mag coupler I've seen. Replaced the floor plates of both magazines. Talking to them it seems like they are going to be putting out many more innovative products. I need to take pics for you folks.

I saw those a few shows back and they were so overpriced it made me sick.

Of course this was during the Obama OhNoes! pricing where everyone seemed high.

In addition the finger grooves on the mag well are a bad idea. Sure some people hold the mag well with no problems. I personally dont want to risk an OOB or KaBoom on my fingers.

Lastly, the lower itself weighs more due to the extra's they built in.

Pass for me, but if it works for you good.

While I don't spend much time using a magwell hold, I do think it can be useful.

And i don't think I could be less worried about a KABOOM.  Even if......that's why we wear gloves.

Mine was not billet, it was a forged lower. No magwell grooves or anything like that. Just a nicely machined forged lower.

That would help explain why the pricing was more reasonable.

I have seen those over at Calibers. Haven't been in there in awhile but they still might have a couple. Frien d of mine bought one and he likes it.
