Welcome aboard!

I suspect the shooting is better . . . after all, we've got the Whittington Center if nothing else.

Hoody,

I too moved here from CO.  Depending on your CO locale, the places to shoot in NM are head and shoulders above Colorado, if you like to shoot on public land.  I like the hunting here better, but it is next to impossible to draw tags most of the time.  The big game hunting is better in CO, just due to the ability to get tags or preference points.

If you like bird hunting, you are moving into a proverbial quail mecca, during good hatch years.

If you are into plinking and blasting, this state is hard to beat.

Come on down!

Be prepared for a drastic change in climate down here.  (I am 35m north of C-bad.)  This summer was really sorta mild, so it's been bearable.

Can you say who you are working for?

Carlsbad does have a small public range on the edge of town that is free to use.  It's nothing wonderful, but it's better than the nothing we have here.  I don't really hunt anymore, outside of varmints, but I do believe the hunting is good here.  It's just gotten harder to get tags these days.

If you ever make it up to the Albuquerque area, drop either Mcdobber or myself a line, and we'll take ya to the Zia Range.

Hey all.  I'm hoodyhoo's brother.  Just to let you know he is in Carlsbad now.  I'm not sure when he will have internet as he doesn't even have a place to live yet.
He is doing chemistry for a mine, I don't remember the name but its a potash mine.  I believe he starts his job Monday.

Damn....C-bad is not the best town to have to live in a motel.  Tell him to stop at the Red Chimney if he gets hungry.  It isn't the end-all/be-all of BBQ, but it's pretty dern good.
