What is going on with the weather here in Albuquerque? I'm not complaining, it's just been a month or so since we've had a decent, warm, clear, sunny summer day! Some think it's just the typical monsoon season. The monsoons roll in during the late afternoon, after a reasonably hot day, and rain for maybe 20-30 minutes. This isn't monsoons, it's something else. The valley has flooded twice already in the last few weeks. The extended forecast doesn't appear to be showing any significant changes in the near future.

Well, its like  this: There's been a drought for 10 years, and the good Lord is returning all the water he's been withholding for all that time. In one season. I just hope He doesn't return it with interest!!

Well,

I'm complaining!

In ten years, I've never seen this amount of rain.

In the past 60 days, I think there have been about 10 days that I haven't seen rain.   And instead of the brief localized showers typical of this climate, some days have seen torrential downpours lasting hours.

I work outdoors a lot, and have lost jobs because of this weather.   I have equipment that is normally well protected by just a shed, which has rusted beyond economical repair.

I can't wait to see what winter will be like.

No kidding!

According to the records (as I understand it), it's never been this green in the foothills. I read a story last week about how from 1 July to 15 August, we usually get 3pointsomething inches of rain, and this year we've gotten elevenpointsomething.

I'm not complaining - I know it will go back to dry and sunny one of these days. In the meantime, I'll just squint my eyes and pretend I'm back home in Indiana!

Yeah, I'm amazed at how green the mountains look. I don't believe in my 18 years of living here that I've ever seen that much green in the foothills.

I can understand that for some the weather has adverse effects on their ability to earn a living. It is unfortunate, but on the other hand we've really needed moisture like this for quite some time. I don't mind the cooler temperatures either. It beats the upper 90's and low 100's we would normlly have this time of year.

Gunner, that's a trip: I moved here 18 years ago as well! June of '88!

Far out - amazing how the place has grown, eh? My wife, who's been in ABQ since she was a kid, says that it's the greenest she remembers. Her parents (who are in their 70s and may have a touch of the rose-colored-glasses of memory) say it used to be like this every summer. . .

I work outside also, the moisture is really nice breaking the looong drought and all but holy cow!  Its green, its cooler, and everyone downstream of us is getting alot of water, good for the farmers.

My job has been really tough also, it will pass.  Stock up on mosquito spray

It really is nice and green.

It's grossly out of norm all over the state.  In our area, generally the dryest in the state, we have had between 10 and 20 inches the last few weeks.

My backyard is 90% covered by large pecan trees.  I hope it will dry out sometime in September, but at this rate I'm not sure.

Last Friday afternoon, my sister had 4" of rain in 30 minutes, along with a micro-burst, at her house.  Of course, we live exactly 2 miles away down the same road and got nothing.

I was just talking to a caseworker down in your corner of the state, Mcgrubbs, and she was talking about how she's been driving her big truck to handle the mucky roads.

Mike, it really isn't this green in the ABQ area all the time! (Hope to see you Friday!)

The more rain the btter. I am on a well and the more rain that comes from the sky the less I need from the ground.

A little weird how much we have been getting. My garage got flooded twice. Glad I had the safe up off of the floor.

It was 72 degrees this weekend and the outdoor wedding I was to attend in Cerrillos got rained out.  Was in ABQ Monday and had walnut-sized hail pelting the roof of my car on I25!

It never rains, but it pours... and then it burns.
In the PRK, whenever we had big rains, it made the grass in the woodlands grow like crazy... then it dried out... and we then had a higher fire danger!

Ya just can't win.

Sorry Tested, instead of hitting "quote" I initially hit "edit".  But I repaired your post to it's original state.

Anyway, I was commenting on your post that you hoped it charges your well.  That's what alot of us are hoping for the wells in the Cloudcroft area.

Ive had to ride home in the rain a lot more then I would like.  Got a cell pic on my other phone of a flooded arroyo near my house, water had to be at least 8 feet deep, now if I can just figure out how to get my phone to turn on again (water damage).
