Is there anywhere from LR north that will do a good job on threading a barrel?  I have a AWB era AR10 that has Armalite's pressed on 2 port "recoil reducer" muzzle brake on it.  Right after the AWB sunset in '04 Armalite sent owners a standard A2 type flash hider.  I've never had the brake cut off and barrel threaded but am now wanting to do it.

I would prefer delivering it somewhere vs sending it via USPS/FedEx/UPS and taking the chance of the barrel ending up looking like a pretzel.  I live in Jonesboro but would drive a couple hours or so to hand deliver it.  If they could do the work while I hung around the area for the day that would be fine or I could drop it off and come back at a later date when it was finished.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

John Norrell would be who I would call first and see if he would do it.  I don't live in LR so I don't know any local gunsmiths.  The one or two I knew of that lived in that area have passed on.

John or Jeb Burnett at Armtac in Roland would be my first choices to do gunsmith work locally.

John Norrell threaded a barrel for me last year overnight.  He lives a bout half a mile from me as the crow flies.  I dropped in on his door step and he called me the next day and it was finished.  I think I paid $75.  I called him about a month and a half ago to work on a shotgun and he said he was too busy manufacturing parts to do it.  He was very sorry he just couldn't get to it.

Edit: he is the only local smith I've used.  I've been using Andy Andrews for my FFL lately and he did the light work on the shotgun.  I'm not sure if he would thread a barrel.  Andrews Armory is his company if you want to give him a try.

Thanks for the info.  I'll do a little checking.  I like that John could do something overnight.  May touch base with him first then go down the line.
