Consult the cop that's gonna be arresting your ass and the prosecutor that's gonna be gunning to crucify your ass if you do... This. If you don't mind being the test case for the rest of us Arkansans, go right ahead. I will donate up to $27.45 to a legal defense fund for whomever volunteers to be the test case. |

I'm good for twice that. |

Even if a test case determined it's legal, be prepared to b detained by every cop on the beat, questioned, background check made, and then someone will have to determine if the law is real and how it applies.
I have asked cops over the years about gun laws, and they didn't have a clue. Unless they read here, they prolly have never even heard of OC. |

only covers you if your on a journey. from your home county to other counties... Although they do further define a "journey" in the statute I'm not sure this will fly for Open Carry. Think about this...the way it is worded now one could assume if you reside in Saline county and travel to the Little Rock area you can now Open Carry because of the new "Journey" interpretation. So the residents of Benton can Open Carry in Little Rock while the residents of LR can't? I can see a constitutional challenge right there. One of the things the Legislature was trying to avoid was Open Carry in downtown LR while allowing it outside of the city. At least that was part of the discussion. If the new "Journey" definition/interpretation does indeed allow those outside of Pulaski county to Open Carry while in Pulaski county things could get interesting as time goes by. I feel sure that by July 1st we'll have more opinions published but the big one hopefully will be from the Attorney General who of course is a Democrat and probably against Open Carry anyway. Maybe the Legislature is trying to slowly get Open Carry integrated into the state and the crappy written Bill is on purpose. lol |
