Couldn't find if someone had already posted one from him....
January 18, 2013 Dear Mr. Richardson, Thank you for contacting me regarding the shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut and gun legislation. I appreciate hearing from you. I was devastated to hear about the senseless act of violence that took place on December 14, 2012. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and those affected by this tragedy. The devastating impact of this tragedy has been felt not just in the small community, but throughout the nation and the world. There is no doubt the shooting has heightened Americans' attention to gun laws, and a number of proposals have already been brought forth in response to this tragedy. I feel it is my duty as a U.S. Senator to consider legislation based on its merits and future ramifications. As Congress evaluates proposals related to all aspects of firearm violence, I will be sure to keep your views in mind. Again, thank you for contacting me. I value your input. Please do not hesitate to contact me or my office regarding this or any other matter of concern to you. Sincerely, Mark Pryor United States Senate |
| We have to get his ass out of office in 2014. He will vote how Obama tells him to. He feels he is untouchable as far as re-election goes. Let's hope and pray the Republicans can find someone who has a chance at beating him. He is a hard core liberal pretending to be a moderate, just like his dad. |

My response was a bit different than yours...
" Dear Mr. Hmann, Thank you for contacting me with your strong support for Second Amendment rights. It is good to hear from you. Like you, I am a proud supporter of the Second Amendment right to bear arms. I certainly understand and share your concerns over the creation of new gun control laws or the renewal of an assault weapons ban in response to recent gun violence. Today, there is plenty of evidence, both in our country and elsewhere, that simply disarming law abiding citizens does not help reduce violent crime. Please be assured that I will continue to monitor any gun legislation closely and should any bills come to the floor of the U.S. Senate for a vote, I will keep your thoughts and concerns in mind. As long as I am your representative in the U.S. Senate, I will continue to work hard to protect Second Amendment rights for the people of Arkansas. I don't think additional gun laws are the solution to our problems with gun violence. Again, thank you for contacting me on this very important issue. Please be sure to visit our website at www.boozman.senate.gov. I look forward to your continued correspondence. Sincerely, John Boozman U.S. Senator" |
