| Coming home from Ozark yesterday, traveling north on I540, south of the tunnel, cruising along at about 78-79MPH in the fast lane, when a vehicle comes flying up behind me and rides my a$$ till I can get around a semi and get out of the way. Car passes and it's a Elkins City Police cruiser, I actually thought he was going to pull me over for speeding (which I was) but he zooms past me and does the same thing to a couple of vehicles, until he's over the hills. No flashing lights, he had to be going 80-90MPH. |

I'm not going to defend the cop's action, but there are times when have to get to point A from B quickly but it's not really an emergency (example: Scumbag gets picked up at town A., after running him through ACIC it comes back that he has a warrant from town B. Town B is notifed but is told that town A can't hold him due to no staff/facilities/etc and if they can't get him soon, they'll cite and release scumbag, appointing him a court date that he'll never show for)
Yes there is asshole cops, just like there are asshole school teachers, asshole doctors, etc... Just hate that those give all the bad rap. I'm not that conserned with speeders unless they are in heavy traffic and actin' a fool. Running stop signs and no child restraints are my biggest things ( because when you see a little'un hurt in a wreck, it'll crush you ) |
| I don't mind it if they go fast as long as they're safe. What I do mind though is if one gives you a ticket for speeding then turns around and drives over the speed limit in his own POV and uses his badge to get him out of a ticket himself. Do as I say, not as I do. |

Quoted:
People who complain about LEO's speeding are te same ones who complain that the officer took too long to get there when they need help... I can understand it when someone questions why a cop was driving fast but not running hot. If they go on to still make an issue out of it after it's been explained to them, then it's annoying. It happens to us too. People bitch about how we drive, then bitch that we took too long to get there. |

Quoted: Van Buren police officers regularly drive 90MPH on highway 10, in Logan and Yell county, and I doubt they're answering calls twice a week, an hour away from their jurisdiction.People who complain about LEO's speeding are te same ones who complain that the officer took too long to get there when they need help... |
