Keeping a truck/trunk gun is a lifestlye change just like carrying a concealed weapon. You have to take precautions against something happening, like wearing a good belt that fits your holster or making sure your vehicle stays locked ALL the time.

1: Still sucks.

2: I hope you called the police.

3: I hope you questioned anyone else in your party that had the means to hide a rifle.

Friends are only as faithful as their options.

Since this thread is about thievery, figure I would let yall know that a second house was broken into on my street. Directly next door to the one hit earlier this year. If the pattern holds true, my house is next inline.

This one was hit between 4-7 pm. They are doing reconnaissance about people's coming and going habits.

To be honest I dont believe they have an alarm system (Either House)

Second house said he had a gun safe, just had 3 shotguns out from duck hunting, a glock 22, Beretta tomcat. I now leave my lab lap top locked up in the safe when I leave as well.

Edited for .....

Alarms system signs are one of the deterrents that may help.  Signs up may just be enough to make them move on to the next house.  I'm planning on adding some digital video security cams to my abode.   One of the best things to do is to make your home as entry proof as possible.

The neighbors have all got cameras now. You can only fortify your home so much before putting bars on windows. Lots of windows over here.

They do make a style that locks from the inside of the bars.  Once you open the window you can unlock the bars and push them open to allow for escape.  More expensive style however.
