OR, you could run a diesel, gear it high, still have all your torque and still run the highway at 80+ |

Cowboy has at least one big block gas motor as well. Not everyone is looking to set up a totally badass fucking dedicated trail rig or rock crawler. It'll be ok. Britt is a smart guy, let him do what he wants. I've known him for over a decade, he likes to do things his own way, and it generally works just fine, even if the experts don't think it's perfect.

didnt the 715 come with a D60 or D70 front and D70 rear? Why the donor? neg reasons: m715 did come w/D60 front, D70 rear 6 lug wheels (no commonality w/anything else mainstream) smaller axles inside the housings (fine for a hauling truck, but I'm going to wail on this one) limited brake upgrade very deep gears (too deep for freeway) pos reasons: Both axles use common 8x6.5" bolt pattern wheels 14b rear w/Detroit locker alread installed, upgrades easily to rear disc D60 front w/Limited Slip alread installed, has power/disc brakes also donating: partial spring pack power steering top hanging pedal assembly steering column turbo400 (not 100% sure on swapping this yet or going divorced) Np205 w/pto (based on trans decision, or swapping pto to divorced 205 yet to be found) Radiator and I still have the low milage (7,800) 6.2 diesel to sell from the CUCV as well as the body parts doors/fenders/hood/grill/bumpers/bash gard etc etc, and the driveline and axles from the m715 (already sold the seats) to help finance wheels/tires and finishing touches like the water cannon and flame belching bed stacks. and I'm sure various other bits/bobs to help update the m715 and, I just made a deal today w/the donor seller to get the 12kw generator that is pto driven, as well as a 4cyl engine driven air compressor (the donor was an M1031 contact truck (tool truck) so, it made good sense to me to go ahead and get the donor |
