I don't like it but I live in Illinois. My brother Louie lives in Benton and is a member at Benton Gun Club. I have shot at BGC many times while visiting Lou and it is the best range I have ever seen. Last time I was there they were just about finished with the 600 yard range.
At my home club, Illinois State Rifle Assn. they shoot SRHP from 300 yards. I don't know how they do that! I've tried to shoot 300 yds with open sights and the front sight post of my RRA NM AR covers the whole target! I'm going to try it again today. Does anyone here shoot in the 'Service Rifle High Power' competition at Benton Gun Club? What days is the Service Rifle High Power competitions held? At what range do they shoot? My brother wants to give it a try with what he thinks is a German K98 Mauser but I have a feeling its actually a Yugo Mauser since he got it from Mitchell's Mausers for an over priced $399. Can he use a Yugo Mauser? Can he use a Saiga AK? As soon as I can find a new complete upper for a RRA lower I have assembled I am going to give it to him. Can he use that if its not exactly mil-spec? What are BGC SRHP rules & restrictions on which rifles may be used? Heres a shot in the dark....I forgot the name of the factory but does any one here work at a factory that makes waffles located somewhere near Benton?
