Fiddle, huh? Learn how to play the banjo and you've got yourself a band. |

i figure with 4 kids and probly more coming some time it should be enough for a band. he also liked the mandolin. i have always liked the banjo. it just sounds so cool. looks pretty hard to play. just need to find a place for lessons for him and a place to buy one from stuck |

Fiddle or violin, whatever you want to call it, has got to be the most tortures things on Earth to listen to someone learning. I agree with the banjo. Seriously, if he has an opportunity to try out some instrument with someone that can play them, it might help. I always regretted not learning the keyboard. I had the trombone shoved off on me, and ended up playing most all of the brass instruments. They were totally useless later in life. If I had learned the keyboard or even the banjo, it's something I would have enjoyed later in my adult years. I suppose the same could be said about the violin/fiddle, but damn...listening to someone learning to play one would drive me over the edge. Good luck with the decision. Music can really add to a persons life. Even a fiddle. |

yea i am thinking it would be hard listening to the fiddle while he is learning. i was showing him some videos of the mandalin and he thought that looks like fun. he sings a lot while we drive around and has a lot of intrest. just have to figure it all out stuck |

Occasionally , when we are in Bentonville dealing with the Ben Jack's Can't really tell you much about them other than there have a lot of stringed instrument in stock and there are always some good pickers hanging around |

Ben Jack's or Sigler Music Center are probably going to be your best bets. It is a bit embarrassing to admit, but in the last 20 years I have spent more money at those two stores than all my guns total. |
