I will be making a trip to Arkansas for the first time in twenty years. I have had my Texas CHL for quite a while, but I rarely make out of state trips, so I am not up to speed on Arkansas carry restrictions. Is there a good online source of info on where, when, and how someone should or should not carry, or any a listing of any other restrictions. I want to carry on my trip, but I want to abide by the local laws/ regulations. Thanks.... |

Thanks. Number 15 states: Any place where a property owner or manager has exercised discretion to prohibit the possession of a firearm. Is there a specific type of sign (like a Texas 30.06), or is a 'no firearms allowed', or a ghostbuster sign enough to prohibt carry? |

5-73-306 (19) (A) Any place at the discretion of the person or entity exercising control over the physical location of the place by placing at each entrance to the place a written notice clearly readable at a distance of not less than ten feet (10') that “carrying a handgun is prohibited”. |
to put it plainly: Ghostbusters are out... ;) it's gotta be WORDS |

When I went through my CHL training in AR, the sheriff's deputy that was doing the training said the sign has to be up at all entry points to a building. The example he gave was: If you goto a mall and all of the entrances but one have the sign, you can go through that one and be legal. The sign has to be posted at all entry points and readable from 10'. Never had the chance to test it and probably would have never been caught. I just thought it was funny that he was telling people ways they could get around certain circumstances. Granted, I have since moved to Oklahoma and my license has been revoked. |
