What is the timeframe for the ASP/FBI to process CCWs. I sent mine in Certified Mail and got confirmation that they received it on Fed 16. Here we are almost 10 weeks later and I havent heard a word. WTF Can they hold you up indefinetly without any reason?

ETA: It showed up today

Where did you take the class?  I think I took mine the same day.  I got my permit almost two weeks ago.

Mine arrived in the mail on the 120th day. I was kinda pissed until I learned that my local Sheriff just lets the apps sit on his desk the entire 30 days. If you aren't arrested in that 30 days, he just lets his "time to reply" expire and the State continues with the processing.

That, in combination with the FBI taking 30+ days to process fingerprint cards...

10 to 12 weeks seems to be the time frame now.  They had it down to 6 weeks or so recently.  Increased volume of applications and some new employees at the ASP has led to the change.

Apparently, the desire for a CCW is increasing here in Arkansas and a lot of other places. Last year, the class I was in had 4 men and 8 women. I thought the numbers were interesting.

Four of the women showed up with guns,(like everyone else did) but then was the first time in their life that they had ever had a gun in their hands. I thought that was interesting, also.

I must have a good Sheriff and was lucky, that I got mine when I did. Sounds like the demand for them now, is overwhelming the states resources.

Good! That's music to my ears. Maybe it'll wake up the rest of the .gov across the country.
